Abigail Jones

BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker

My practice focuses on the juxtaposition between forms and materials following architectural inspiration. Pattern and precision are often present within my work, the angular forms challenge the simplicity of the materials, and the relationship held between them. I work with a variety of materials that hold industrial qualities, mostly for their aesthetic and structural elements. Bold, clean architecture holds a presence within an environment, within my work I portray this through the design and composition of the forms.

Mae fy arfer yn canolbwyntio ar y cyfosodiad rhwng ffurfiau a deunyddiau gan ddilyn ysbrydoliaeth bensaernïol. Mae patrwm a manwl gywirdeb yn aml yn bresennol o fewn fy ngwaith, mae’r ffurfiau onglaidd yn herio symlrwydd y deunyddiau a’r berthynas a ddaliwyd rhyngddynt. Rwy’n gweithio gydag amrywiaeth o ddeunyddiau sydd â rhinweddau diwydiannol, gan mwyaf oherwydd eu helfennau esthetig ac adeileddol. Mae pensaernïaeth eofn a glân yn dal presenoldeb o fewn amgylchedd, yn fy ngwaith rwy’n portreadu hyn trwy ddyluniad a chyfansoddiad y ffurfiau.
