It’s no secret that we are consuming fast fashion at an alarmingly high rate. The need that people are feeling to keep up with the latest fashion trends is causing a plethora of problems on our environment; from the manufacturing of items, to filling up landfills with last year’s looks. Charity shops across the globe are also experiencing difficulty in keeping up with the increasing number of donations as only 10% of the clothes we donate are actually sold in stores, while the rest are shipped to third world countries.

Vita Nova aims to provide a solution to this ever growing problem by encouraging and inspiring people to get creative and reuse, repair or repurpose the clothing they already own. Through monthly events and an online presence, Vita Nova is inviting everyone to join a community of like-minded people with a single goal in mind: combatting fast fashion.

Nid yw’n gyfrinach ein bod yn defnyddio ffasiwn ar gyfradd frawychus o uchel. Mae’r angen y mae pobl yn teimlo i gadw i fyny â’r tueddiadau ffasiwn diweddaraf yn achosi llu o broblemau ar gyfer ein hamgylchedd; o weithgynhyrchu eitemau i lenwi safleoedd tirlenwi gydag arddulliau’r llynedd. Mae siopau elusennau ledled y byd hefyd yn profi anhawster wrth gadw i fyny â’r nifer cynyddol o roddion gan fod 10% yn unig o’r dillad a roddwn yn cael eu gwerthu yn y siopau, mae’r gweddill yn cael eu cludo i wledydd y trydydd byd.

Mae Vita Nova yn ceisio darparu ateb i’r problem gynyddol hon trwy annog ac ysbrydoli pobl i fod yn greadigol ac ailddefnyddio, atgyweirio neu ailbwrpasu’r dillad y maent eisoes yn berchen arnynt. Trwy ddigwyddiadau misol a phresenoldeb ar-lein, mae Vita Nova yn gwahodd pawb i ymuno â chymuned o bobl â’r un meddylfryd sydd â’r un nod mewn cof: taclo ffasiwn cyflym.
