Typomaniac. Words are continuously present within my work because I have an intense urge for using text. Compulsion. I write until I fill a space by repeating a word or sentences or just writing at random. Layers. I express my thoughts, memories and emotions through text as an act of self-revelation. Disclose. The act of revelation is simultaneously paired with concealment to suggest an uncomfortable feeling associated with revealing myself. Conceal. I cut the MDF into long repetitive strips to reflect the recurrence of my processes. Repetition. I can manipulate the MDF into forming shapes through applying pressure. Tension. I create shapes that are suggestive of the simplicity of text with curves, points, lines and angles. Sculpture. I display a collection of sculptures to represent the way I consistently write and sculpt. Collection. I exhibit my work based on intuition, allowing the moment to dictate what I do in the same way that I write. Automatic. The installation transitions between displays with alterations to the sculptures to enhance impermanence. Transformation. All work is an act of permanence and impermanence from the use of charcoal and paint, to the thoughts, to the sculptures, to the performative installation. (Im)permanent.

Dwli ar deipio. Mae geiriau yn bresennol yn barhaus yn fy ngwaith oherwydd mae gen i anogaeth ddwys i ddefnyddio testun. Gorfodaeth. Rwy’n ysgrifennu nes i mi lenwi lle trwy ailadrodd gair neu frawddegau neu ysgrifennu ar hap yn unig. Haenau. Rwy’n mynegi fy meddyliau, atgofion ac emosiynau trwy destun fel gweithred o hunan-ddatguddiad. Datgelu. Mae’r weithred o ddatguddiad wedi’i baru ar yr un pryd â chuddio i awgrymu teimlad anghyfforddus sy’n gysylltiedig â datgelu fy hun. Cuddio. Rwy’n torri’r MDF yn stribedi ailadroddus hir i adlewyrchu ailadrodd fy mhrosesau. Ailadrodd. Gallaf drin yr MDF i ffurfio siapiau trwy gymhwyso pwysau. Tensiwn. Rwy’n creu siapiau sy’n awgrymu symlrwydd testun gyda chromliniau, pwyntiau, llinellau ac onglau. Cerflun. Rwy’n arddangos casgliad o gerfluniau i gynrychioli’r ffordd rydw i’n ysgrifennu ac yn cerflunio yn gyson. Casgliad. Rwy’n arddangos fy ngwaith yn seiliedig ar reddf, gan ganiatáu i’r eiliad bennu beth rwy’n ei wneud yn yr un ffordd ag yr wyf yn ysgrifennu. Awtomatig. Mae’r gosodiadau yn trosglwyddo rhwng arddangosfeydd gyda newidiadau i’r cerfluniau i wella amherffeithrwydd. Trawsnewid. Mae’r holl waith yn weithred o barhad ac amherffeithrwydd o ddefnyddio siarcol a phaent, i’r meddyliau, i’r cerfluniau, i’r gosodiad perfformiadol. (Di-barhad).

My work explores the relationship between a space and the art in it. I have become intrigued by how a painting can effect a space, exploring corporate art, it can be used to influence productivity and creativity in that environment. With influence from Colour Theory,...

We have never been so connected yet so alone. The internet has become integral to our daily lives, no element of our existence seems untouched by it. But have we been caught and paralysed in the web? We are constantly on display and exposed, yet anonymous. We seem to...

My work is currently exploring texture and abstraction, with acrylic paint being my main medium through the repetitive motion of building layers. I am presently experimenting with wallpaper and plaster, by layering through a variety of applications, such as sanding,...

I would describe my art as confessional; I take inspiration from my life events and feelings surrounding these experiences, I translate this through my work. I see my practice as a portal from my life in which I can lose myself and explore the deepest truths of my...

I have recently been exploring ideas related to the home and memory, and how they form identity. I am interested in how to defy the imperative to follow a linear structure in personal narrative and instead look for a more honest depiction of memory, which is itself...
