‘Palms off my Palm Oil’ is an educational campaign that highlights the devastating effects associated with palm oil production in Indonesia, in particular Borneo and Sumatra.

Together with neighboring Malaysia, Indonesia supplies over 85% of the world’s palm oil, which is the main cause of deforestation in these areas, destroying habitats of many critically endangered species. It has been estimated that if deforestation continues at its current rate, the Indonesian rainforests will be gone by 2022.

My main aim is to educate children and parents on this subject, as this issue will only become more urgent for this generation. I have incorporated bright and bold colours, interesting characters and interactive elements to encourage curiosity and learning in a fun and visually engaging way. Hopefully, getting the message across to children will encourage them to ask questions of their parents and teachers, which in turn will help spread the message more widely.

I enjoy responding to a variety of subjects, using bright and bold colours throughout to reinforce a sense of positivity. I love to make people laugh and put them at ease, while conveying meaningful messages and initiating conversations on current issues.

Mae ‘Palms off my Palm Oil’ yn ymgyrch addysgol sy’n amlygu effeithiau dinistriol cynhyrchu olew palmwydd yn Indonesia, yn benodol Borneo a Swmatra.

Gyda’i chymydog Malaysia, mae Indonesia yn cyflenwi dros 85% o olew palmwydd y byd, sef prif achos dadgoedwigo yn yr ardaloedd hyn, sy’n dinistrio cynefinoedd llawer o rywogaethau sydd o dan fygythiad enbyd. Amcangyfrifir y bydd coedwigoedd glaw Indonesia wedi diflannu erbyn 2022 os bydd dadgoedwigo’n parhau ar ei gyfradd bresennol.

Fy mhrif nod yw addysgu plant a rhieni ar y pwnc yma, gan y bydd y mater yn mynd yn fwy brys o lawer ar gyfer y genhedlaeth hon. Rwyf wedi ymgorffori lliwiau llachar ac eofn, cymeriadau diddorol ac elfennau rhyngweithiol er mwyn ennyn brwdfrydedd a dysgu mewn ffordd ddifyr a gweledol ddiddorol. Y gobaith yw y bydd cyfleu’r neges i blant yn eu hannog i ofyn cwestiynau i’w rhieni ac athrawon, a fydd yn ei dro’n helpu lledaenu’r neges yn ehangach.

Rwy’n mwynhau ymateb i amrywiaeth o bynciau gan ddefnyddio lliwiau llachar ac eofn trwyddi draw i atgyfnerthu ymdeimlad o bositifrwydd. Rwy’n dwlu ar wneud i bobl chwerthin a theimlo’n esmwyth, ac ar yr un pryd cyfleu negeseuon llawn hystyr a chychwyn sgyrsiau ar faterion cyfoes.
