Hannah Morgan

BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker

Immortalised in Porcelain

The main focus of Hannah’s work is to create bespoke ceramic artefacts that are inspired by traditional Wedgewood Jasperware, and through digital manipulation the work is made in to a piece of contemporary ceramics.

The works main feature is the profile of a face, but also includes 3D photographic images, which adorn a vessel. The profiles have been created using a 3D scanner. Once digitally manipulated and etched out of pink model board the artist uses a variety of traditional ceramic processes to incorporate the head in to a piece of ceramic work.

Personalisation is a key aspect within this work; there are twenty-two small plates hanging upon the wall, to commemorate each individual on the Artist, Designer: Maker course, including the teaching staff. This is where the artist’s interests lies, she plans to create a business where the client can buy a commemorative plate with their own or a loved one’s profile.
