My love for hand rendered work has continued to grow since starting university so it was only right that my final major project celebrated creativity in the world of craft. “Love of Craft” brings together a collection of crafts people explaining their passion for what they do. I have developed this editorial with the intension of modernising the image of craft and to demonstrate it really is for anyone to get involved with.
In order to do that I put the emphasis on intriguing illustrations and use of bright colour to encourage accessibility. I have also included content that demonstrates not only the variety of crafts but also represented the range of age groups and gender to show how inclusive it can be.
Undertaking this project has given me the opportunity to talk to many new creative people and learn about their approach to their field. This has encouraged me to be more experimental and develop my own approach to design.
Mae fy nghariad at waith wedi’i wneud â llaw wedi tyfu ers i fi ddechrau yn y brifysgol felly roedd hi’n addas bod fy mhrosiect mawr olaf yn dathlu creadigrwydd ym myd crefft. Mae “Caru Crefft” yn dod â chasgliad o grefftwyr at ei gilydd i egluro eu hangerdd am eu gwaith. Rwyf wedi datblygu’r gwaith golygyddol hwn gyda’r bwriad o foderneiddio’r ddelwedd o grefft a dangos y gall pawb gymryd rhan ynddo.
Er mwyn gwneud hynny, mae’r pwyslais gen i ar luniau sy’n ennyn chwilfrydedd a’r defnydd o liw llachar i annog hygyrchedd. Rydw i hefyd wedi rhoi sylw i gynnwys sy’n dangos nid yn unig yr amrywiaeth o grefftau ond hefyd yn cynrychioli’r ystod o grwpiau oedran a rhywedd i ddangos pa mor gynhwysol y gall fod.
Mae gwneud y prosiect hwn wedi rhoi cyfle i fi siarad â llawer o bobl greadigol newydd a dysgu am eu dull o weithio yn y maes. Mae hyn wedi fy annog i fod yn fwy arbrofol a datblygu fy null dylunio fy hun.
