For my final project I’ve made a children’s comic book, along with other elements as part of a campaign/educational program for Natural Resources Wales (NRW). This started as a personal subject in relation to major changes in the forestry area back home, this resulted in a need to try and get more information as well as a strategy in how to spread and expand this information to others. All the work is adapted into a digital format as I thought the impact would be greater with my target audience, with the bright and clear imagery that the digital format gave was better for my subject and story.

With the other elements, like the key rings, was another way to show how far this topic and designs could be built upon into a franchise, while adding another level of interest for the younger audiences for them to connect and empathise with the characters and the troubles they face. I also used existing ideas and strategies that NRW have in their program, like the Natural Progression Chart which I tried to improve on by reducing the amount of text and implementing my character into the imagery, again as another layer to the integration process.

I would like to further extend this idea with other stories and other animals as the main character in their own stories, as to further show the impact people have not just on plant life but towards the wildlife too, this project is a way in which to try and improve the public’s mindset about preserving nature and the many benefits it can give us.

Ar gyfer my mhrosiect terfynol rydw i wedi gwneud llyfr comig i blant, gydag elfennau eraill fel rhan o ymgyrch/rhaglen addysgol ar gyfer Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru (CNC). Dechreuodd hyn fel pwnc personol mewn perthynas â newidiadau mawr ym maes coedwigaeth gartref, ac arweiniodd hyn at yr angen i geisio cael rhagor o wybodaeth yn ogystal â strategaeth ar gyfer sut i ledaenu ac ehangu’r wybodaeth hon i eraill. Mae’r holl waith yn cael ei addasu i fformat digidol gan fy mod yn credu y byddai’r effaith yn fwy gyda’m cynulleidfa darged, gyda lluniau golau a chlir y fformat digidol yn well i’m gwrthrych a’m stori.

Gyda’r elfennau eraill, fel y cylchoedd allweddi, roedd yn ffordd arall i ddangos y graddau y gellir datblygu’r pwnc a’r cynlluniau hyn yn fasnachfraint, gan ychwanegu lefel arall o ddiddordeb i gynulleidfaoedd iau er mwyn iddyn nhw gysylltu ac uniaethu gyda’r cymeriadau a’r trafferthion maen nhw’n eu hwynebu. Defnyddiais syniadau a strategaethau cyfredol sydd gan CNC yn eu rhaglen hefyd, fel y Siart Cynnydd Naturiol gan geisio ei gwella drwy leihau’r testun a chyflwyno fy nghymeriad i i’r llun, unwaith eto fel haen arall i’r broses integreiddio.

Hoffwn ymestyn y syniad hwn ymhellach gyda straeon eraill ac anifeiliaid eraill fel y prif gymeriad yn eu straeon eu hunain, i ddangos yr effaith mae pobl yn ei chael ar blanhigion ac ar fywyd gwyllt. Mae’r prosiect hwn yn ffordd o geisio gwella ffordd o feddwl pobl am warchod byd natur a’r llu o fanteision y gallwn ei gael ohono.
