My practice is focused on fostering an appreciation of true craftsmanship while celebrating the natural qualities of wood. My aim for these pieces was to showcase my skills; both within design and making, as both aspects are essential for effective and innovative designs to be realised. My work is a combination of elements, inspired by traditional joinery patterns and contemporary furniture forms, within my work the joinery is both structural and decorative. By using contrasting wood I can highlight both the design and my hand skills, the difference in colouration allows the richness of the contrasting wood to put the spotlight on the detailed design considerations that feature within these bespoke pieces. This collection is designed to be customisable as the wood, joinery and scale can all be adjusted to suit individual needs. This collaborative process is important for both the client and designer to feel that their creative vision is being understood and therefore can be executed.

Mae fy ymarfer yn canolbwyntio ar feithrin gwerthfawrogiad o grefftwriaeth o’r iawn ryw wrth ddathlu rhinweddau naturiol pren. Fy nod ar gyfer y darnau hyn oedd arddangos fy sgiliau; o fewn dylunio a gwneud, gan fod y ddwy agwedd yn hanfodol er mwyn gwireddu cynlluniau effeithiol ac arloesol. Mae fy ngwaith yn gyfuniad o elfennau, wedi’u hysbrydoli gan batrymau gwaith coed traddodiadol a ffurfiau dodrefn cyfoes, mae’r gwaith saer yn strwythurol ac yn addurniadol yn fy ngwaith i. Trwy ddefnyddio pren cyferbyniol gallaf dynnu sylw at y dyluniad a’m sgiliau llaw, mae’r gwahaniaeth mewn lliw yn caniatáu i gyfoeth y pren cyferbyniol dynnu sylw at yr ystyriaethau dylunio manwl sy’n ymddangos yn y darnau unigryw hyn. Mae’r casgliad wedi’i ddylunio i fod yn hyblyg gan fod modd addasu’r pren, y gwaith saer a’r raddfa i weddu i anghenion unigol. Mae’r broses gydweithredol hon yn bwysig er mwyn i’r cleient a’r dylunydd deimlo bod eu gweledigaeth greadigol yn cael ei deall ac felly y gellir ei chyflawni.
