I am Abigail Walker a final year student studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I am studying a BA Honors degree in fashion design, which I specialize in Lingerie design. Whilst studying here at Cardiff Met I have launched my own lingerie brand in my own name, Abigail Walker Lingerie. Putting my own personal aesthetic to my brand has always been my ultimate goal. My brand values are to empower women through lingerie, exploring ‘lingerie as outerwear’ allowing women to be body confident and feel empowered by wearing my products without feeling like they are being sexualized.

The brand’s strapline is ‘Fiercely Feminine’ which adds to the empowerment element. Body confidence and women empowerment has reached a new high in recent years and I think that this is important to the majority of women and particularly myself and I feel strongly that I want my brand to reflect that message. I have created this business because I want to give women the choice to wear these products as intimate lingerie or alternatively as outerwear and to feel confident and empowered whilst doing so. My products blend effortlessly with outerwear but also can be worn more intimately as lingerie, which gives them versatility and appeals to a much wider target market. The brand identity focuses on silhouette, fitting the body perfectly with a feminine and sensual feel. After I graduate I plan on expanding the business and growing it into a successful lingerie brand.

Abigail Walker ydw i, myfyriwr blwyddyn olaf sy’n astudio ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd. Rwy’n astudio gradd BA Anrhydedd mewn dylunio ffasiwn ac yn arbenigo mewn dylunio lingerie. Yn ystod fy amser yma ym Met Caerdydd rwyf wedi lansio fy mrand lingerie fy hun yn fy enw fy hun, Abigail Walker Lingerie. Mae cymhwyso fy estheteg bersonol i fy mrand bob amser wedi bod yn nod pennaf i mi. Gwerthoedd fy mrand yw grymuso menywod trwy lingerie, gan ymchwilio i ‘lingerie fel dillad allanol’ a galluogi menywod i deimlo’n hyderus yn eu cyrff ac wedi’u grymuso trwy wisgo fy nwyddau heb deimlo eu bod yn cael eu rhywioli.

Pennawd hysbysebu’r brand yw ‘Fiercely Feminine’ sy’n ychwanegu at yr elfen rymuso. Mae hyder yn y corff a grymuso menywod wedi cyrraedd uchafbwynt newydd dros flynyddoedd diweddar a chredaf fod hyn yn bwysig i’r mwyafrif o fenywod a fi fy hun yn benodol, a theimlaf yn gryf fy mod eisiau i fy mrand adlewyrchu’r neges honno. Rwyf wedi creu’r busnes hwn gan fy mod eisiau rhoi dewis i fenywod wisgo’r nwyddau hyn fel lingerie nwydus neu fel arall fel dillad allanol a theimlo’n hyderus ac wedi’u grymuso wrth wneud hynny. Mae fy nwyddau’n cymysgu’n hwylus gyda dillad allanol ond gellir eu gwisgo’n nwydus fel lingerie, sy’n rhoi hyblygrwydd iddynt ac yn apelio at farchnad lawer ehangach. Mae hunaniaeth y brand yn canolbwyntio ar silwét, gan ffitio’r corff yn berffaith gyda theimlad benywaidd a cnawdol. Ar ôl i mi raddio rwy’n bwriadu ehangu’r busnes a’i dyfu i fod yn frand lingerie llwyddiannus.
