“Wasting away” is inspired by the natural process of corrosion and erosion on materials and metals which form rust. It truly fascinates me how materials are worn away by natural forces and create unprecedented warm distinctive colour tones and textures.

I have used reverse dyeing techniques to fabricate colours which imitate the rawness of the ecosphere, which are environmentally conscious due to sustainability becoming more necessity in today. My university studies have allowed me to become more conscious of my fashion waste and develop methodologies which allow me to establish a positive step forward to the changing of the industry.

My research of natural processes of both rust and decay leads me to focus on the collection having an unperfected atmosphere, portraying an organic feel to my garments which personify the characteristics of imperfections overall displaying an ‘unfished’ aesthetic.

A great deal of my inspiration stemmed from the evolvement of decay, it allowed me to create unique garments which enhance natural elements of the women’s body revealing moderate amounts of skin in unique shapes to clone the procedure of abrasion and deterioration.

Ysbrydolwyd “Wasting away” gan y broses naturiol o lygru ac erydu ar ddeunyddiau a metelau sy’n ffurfio rhwd. Mae’n fy nghyfareddu’n wirioneddol sut mae deunyddiau’n cael eu gwisgo i ffwrdd gan rymoedd naturiol ac yn creu tonau a gweadau lliw nodedig cynnes nodweddiadol. Yr wyf wedi defnyddio technegau lliwio gwrthdro i ffabrigeiddio lliwiau sy’n dynwared amrwd yr ecosffer, sy’n ymwybodol o’r amgylchedd oherwydd bod cynaliadwyedd yn dod yn fwy o anghenraid heddiw. Galluogodd fy astudiaethau prifysgol fi i ddod yn fwy ymwybodol o’m gwastraff ffasiwn a datblygu methodolegau sy’n fy ngalluogi i sefydlu cam cadarnhaol ymlaen tuag at newid y diwydiant.

Mae fy ymchwil i brosesau naturiol rhwd a dirywiad yn fy arwain i ganolbwyntio ar y casgliad yn cael awyrgylch heb ei effeithio, gan bortreadu teimlad organig i’m dillad sy’n personoli nodweddion amherffaith yn gyffredinol gan arddangos esthetig ‘anorffenedig’. Deilliodd llawer iawn o’m hysbrydoliaeth o esblygu pydredd, roedd yn caniatáu i mi greu dillad unigryw sy’n gwella elfennau naturiol corff menyw sy’n datgelu symiau cymedrol o groen mewn siapiau unigryw i gymylu’r weithdrefn o dreulio a dirywiad.
