BA (Hons) Interior Design

Design has been part of my life from a young age, and I found joy in restoring, upcycling, and reshaping old furniture to create new, unique pieces of art. I see interior design as a form of art, where the rooms, compartments and buildings are my canvas and I bring these constructions to life and give them a new meaning. Repurposing objects and furniture will also support making more environment friendly structures for a sustainable future.

We spend most of our life in buildings, therefore it is important how we feel and interact with our surroundings. I am driven by my curious nature, and I aim to create spaces to trigger various types of emotions, as I believe design is not only visuals, but a full process that we will appreciate more if we can experience it with all our senses.

Studying the work of behavioural scientists and anthropologists helped me understand how we discover the world. Connecting with clients on a professional and personal level guides me to design a space where people feel comfortable and amazed at the same time.

I believe that emotional design can impact the interior design industry for the better. I am committed to implement this within my work to positively influence others uniting my two strong passions by recycling products and using psychology to promote spaces that make people happy.

Mae dylunio wedi bod yn rhan o’m bywyd ers pan oeddwn i’n ifanc, ac roedd adfer, uwchgylchu ac ail-lunio hen ddodrefn i greu darnau newydd ac unigryw o gelf yn rhoi pleser i mi. Rwy’n gweld dylunio mewnol fel ffurf o gelfyddyd, lle mae’r ystafelloedd, yr adrannau a’r adeiladau’n gynfas i mi ac rwy’n dod â’r adeiladweithiau hyn yn fyw ac yn rhoi ystyr newydd iddyn nhw. Bydd rhoi pwrpas newydd i wrthrychau a dodrefn yn helpu i wneud mwy o strwythurau sy’n ystyriol o’r amgylchedd ar gyfer dyfodol cynaliadwy hefyd.

Rydym ni’n treulio’r rhan fwyaf o’n bywyd mewn adeiladau, felly mae’n bwysig sut rydym yn teimlo am ein hamgylchedd ac yn rhyngweithio ag ef. Rwy’n cael fy ysgogi gan fy natur chwilfrydig, a’m nod yw creu gofodau i sbarduno gwahanol fathau o emosiynau, gan fy mod i’n credu bod dylunio’n fwy na delweddau’n unig, ond yn broses lawn y byddwn yn ei gwerthfawrogi’n fwy os gallwn ni ei phrofi gyda’n holl synhwyrau.

Fe wnaeth astudio gwaith gwyddonwyr ymddygiadol ac anthropolegwyr fy helpu i ddeall sut rydym ni’n darganfod y byd. Mae cysylltu â chleientiaid ar lefel broffesiynol a phersonol yn fy arwain i ddylunio rhywle lle mae pobl yn teimlo’n gyfforddus ac yn rhyfeddu ar yr un pryd.

Rwy’n credu y gall dylunio emosiynol effeithio ar y diwydiant dylunio mewnol er gwell. Rwy’n ymroddedig i roi hyn ar waith yn fy ngwaith i ddylanwadu’n gadarnhaol ar eraill gan uno fy nau angerdd cryf drwy ailgylchu cynhyrchion a defnyddio seicoleg i hyrwyddo gofodau sy’n gwneud pobl yn hapus.

My interest in creating pleasant spaces goes back to my childhood and my family background. I am the daughter of an Iranian architect, who is full of taste and motivation to create and design better surroundings. I look at everything differently and try to set a new...

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
