BA (Hons) Product Design

Alexandra Josty

I believe design has a responsibility to be future-facing and my approach is to create designs with a focus on ecological sustainability. Whether its redesigning products to improve its function or its aesthetics, the process of working alongside the consumer plays a key part in the success of the final outcome.

With a prime skillset in user-centered research, I can connect with the client and develop the design of a product with the ability to adapt to the users request. As an open minded individual, constructive criticism and feedback in the design process enable me to further develop designs. There may be a case of reevaluating a stage in the process however, it is imperative that with careful alterations and considerations the target markets requirements are always fulfilled.

With experience in the industry through fast-paced tasks such as live projects in university, I am trained to work on a product with the ability to adapt my focus onto a range of areas in the design. I am a user-centered researcher who focusses on the importance of designing a product with the user/consumer as the primary focus.

Rwy’n credu ei bod yn gyfrifoldeb ar ddylunio i edrych tua’r dyfodol a’m dull i yw creu dyluniadau a fydd yn canolbwyntio ar gynaliadwyedd ecolegol. P’un ai y bydd hynny’n ail-ddylunio cynnyrch i gael gwella’i waith neu ei estheteg, bydd rhan allweddol gan y broses o weithio gyda’r defnyddiwr o ran llwyddiant y canlyniad terfynol.

A minnau â sgiliau o’r radd flaenaf mewn ymchwil â’r defnyddiwr yn y canol, gallaf gysylltu â’r cleient a datblygu dyluniad cynnyrch ac addasu i ofynion y defnyddiwr. Rwyf yn unigolyn sydd â meddwl agored ac mae’r gallu i feirniadu a rhoi adborth adeiladol yn y broses ddylunio yn fy ngalluogi i ddatblygu dyluniadau ymhellach. Weithiau bydd rheswm dros ail-werthuso cam yn y broses, ond mae’n hanfodol wrth wneud newidiadau ac ystyried yn ofalus, bod gofynion y farchnad darged yn cael eu boddhau.

A minnau â phrofiad yn y diwydiant drwy dasgau cyflym megis prosiectau byw yn y brifysgol, rwyf wedi fy hyfforddi i weithio ar gynnyrch ac rwy’n gallu addasu fy ffocws i amrywiaeth o fannau yn y dylunio. Rwyf yn ymchwilydd sy’n canolbwyntio ar bwysigrwydd dylunio cynnyrch â’r defnyddiwr yn brif ffocws.
