I’m inspired by the diversity and dissimilarity of imagination and how personality transfers into creativity. These works are a construction that reflects my imagination, combined with other peoples.
Initially, I gave a selection of individuals an assortment of images from various wildlife books with one instruction: to collage one single form. I received a set of outstandingly bizarre images that all resembled figures, I had no control over the images I induced. I then repeated this process myself by cutting a collection of the pieces into strips, then assembling them to create new figures.
I’ve produced a series of repeated screen-printed figures and amended each one, either colour wise or collaged on top of the print. Each image I have used throughout has been from a small selection of books, with no size adjustment, duplication or amendment exceptions. The text included is chapters of one of my books, the titles of which I have interpreted into collage on top of the prints. This brings the personality of the wildlife back into the pieces, resulting in a highly collaborative set of images, based on my judgments as an artist.
