Church Series

For this art project I have picked a theme for this final year which are churches, I originally wasn’t going to pick this theme but my fascination with the architectural stone works and the different type of churches grew inside me makes me want to create.

The overall project so far has been a challenge to create my final pieces and my experimental works including documenting in my sketchbook. The idea later changed about the ‘Apocalypse’ which started as experimental drawings which later became a big influence in my work. I have created two big final pieces of the two churches that have the apocalyptic element to it by looking at the background. The Bible pages another idea for my project as I have glued them into my collage pieces to create the wall of the church and adds the symbolic relationship with god. By looking at various artist works my main inspiration for the project was John Piper as I have been told my work is similar to his because of the style this strived me towards creating little church drawings and still sticking to the apocalyptic element and the ruined buildings.

My artwork was initially inspired by the rave scene which is usually an intense environment of music, colour and lights. I decided to recreate the feelings that my experience evoked, with the use of illuminative acrylics and spray paints on canvas. As spray painting...

Exploring the fragmentation of memory through the physicality of found objects and the spoken word, my work has become an archive of my family history. Due to the archival nature of my work, I replicate ways of preserving my objects through the attentiveness of their...

In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
