Sensitive

The aim of my work is to strike an emotive response in a viewer, to evoke empathy and embroil them within an unravelling tale. This approach has roots in participatory practice and seeks to draw an onlooker in, encouraging them to complete the story for themselves.

The objects represent the cast of a potential narrative, some are angular and disjointed to create an air of subtle discomfort to antagonise those more organic and soft in shape. It is these subtle interactions between pieces that convey the story.

The sculpture sets a scene, awakening tales through dislocated, recognisable and ambiguous objects; more a playground for the imaginary than a story dictated by paper and pen.
