My project titled ‘Childhood Euphoria’ explores channeling my inner child through the sense of nostalgia found in reflecting on my childhood experiences. I have been heavily influenced by my time spent in hospital as a child with a heart defect, taking the get well soon sentiment and finding inspiration in the activities and gifts which comforted me during this time such as doodling, sticker books and cuddly toys. As a designer, I am deeply fascinated by the concept of nostalgia and the feelings derived from looking back at past experiences, which I believe is key for pushing the future of fashion. My designer handwriting translates a sense of playfulness and vibrancy, which is at the core of my designs and is something I enjoy showcasing through my fun prints and mood boosting colour palettes. I specialise in illustrating both by hand and digitally, creating intricate fashion designs, prints, motifs and especially find enjoyment in producing muse illustrations. Considering relevant upcoming trends, my autumn/winter 22 ready-to-wear collection expresses kidult kitsch themes with voluminous childlike silhouettes, playful prints and dainty details. Positivity is of importance to me in the way I dress and design and am eager to reflect feelings of joy on consumers. Circular and custom-made fashion is a passion of mine and is something I intend on pursuing within my work post-graduation. Alongside this, my interest in digital design will allow me to push the boundaries of fashion and am enthusiastic these skills are great foundations to drive myself into a career within the fashion industry.

Mae fy mhrosiect ‘Childhood Euphoria’ yn archwilio sianelu’r plentyn y tu mewn i mi drwy synnwyr nostalgia a ganfyddir wrth fyfyrio ar brofiadau fy mhlentyndod. Rwyf wedi cael fy nylanwadu’n fawr gan yr amser a dreuliais yn yr ysbyty fel plentyn yn sgil nam ar y galon, gan ddefnyddio’r teimlad o wellhad buan a chanfod ysbrydoliaeth yn y gweithgareddau a’r rhoddion a fu’n gysur i mi yn ystod y cyfnod hwn megis dwdlo, llyfrau sticeri a theganau meddal. Fel dylunydd, mae gennyf ddiddordeb mawr yn y cysyniad o nostalgia a’r teimladau sy’n deillio o edrych yn ôl ar brofiadau’r gorffennol, y credaf sy’n allweddol i wthio dyfodol ffasiwn. Mae fy llawysgrifen fel dylunydd yn trosi’n ymdeimlad chwareus a bywiog, sy’n greiddiol i’m cynlluniau ac yn rhywbeth rwy’n mwynhau ei ddangos drwy fy mhrintiau hwyliog a phalet lliwiau sy’n rhoi hwb i’r hwyliau. Rwy’n arbenigo mewn dylunio â llaw ac yn ddigidol, gan greu cynlluniau ffasiwn, printiau a motifau cain, ac yn mwynhau creu darluniau myfyriol. O ystyried tueddiadau perthnasol sydd yn yr arfaeth, mae fy nghasgliad hydref/gaeaf 22 parod i’w wisgo yn dangos themâu ‘kidult kitsch’ gyda’u silwét plentynnaidd swmpus, printiau chwareus a manylion cywrain. Mae positifrwydd yn bwysig i mi o safbwynt y ffordd rwy’n gwisgo ac yn dylunio ac rwy’n awyddus i adlewyrchu teimladau hapus ar ddefnyddwyr. Rwy’n angerddol am ffasiwn cylchol a ffasiwn wedi’i addasu ac mae’n rhywbeth rwy’n bwriadu ei ddilyn yn fy ngwaith wedi graddio. Yn ogystal â hyn, bydd fy niddordeb mewn dylunio digidol yn rhoi cyfle i mi wthio ffiniau ffasiwn ac yn teimlo’n frwdfrydig y bydd y sgiliau yma’n seiliau ardderchog i’m gyrru at yrfa o fewn y diwydiant ffasiwn.
