Exploring the Tropic’s, my collection dives into the weird and wonderful; a whimsical adventure into the jungle. My Autumn/Winter 19 collection includes drawings of animals, floral and foliage, exploring natural textures and marks. Giving a slight nod to the weird with a two-headed bird, tiger mixed with a butterfly and a snake combined with a flamingo. Personally, a huge inspiration through my design process has always been finding an element of uniqueness, following the famous Timorous Beasties and the work of Cole and Son. The expectation of these designs is to evoke a sense of surprise, with some seeming ‘normal’, unexpected designs will jump out in between, hopefully warping reality ever so slightly. Although my designs are designed for the interior of an edgy bar, I could easily see them transferring into the home, with the unique mirror designs, a selected array of cushions or a stately chair. Each giving a nod to the homeowners personality, someone whom might be in the creative industry and wanting their bit of adventure in their homes. Through gathering a series of liner drawings, I finalise all my patterns digitally in photoshop or illustrator to add colour, this allows me to make quick changes when needed, meaning each design can have a new lease of life.

Mae fy nghasgliad, Archwilio’r Trofannau, yn plymio i’r rhyfedd a’r rhyfeddol: mae’n antur fympwyol i’r jyngl. Mae fy nghasgliad Hydref/Gaeaf 19 yn cynnwys lluniau o anifeiliaid, planhigion a dail ac yn archwilio marciau a gweadwaith naturiol, gan giledrych ar y rhyfedd gydag aderyn â dau ben, teigr yn gymysg â glöyn byw a neidr wedi’i gyfuno â fflamingo. Yn bersonol, bu cael hyd i elfen unigryw bob amser yn ysbrydoliaeth enfawr ar hyd fy mhroses ddylunio, gan ddilyn yr enwog Timorous Beasties a gwaith Cole & Son. Y disgwyl yw y bydd y dyluniadau hyn yw ennyn ymdeimlad o syndod a bydd eraill yn rhoi’r argraff o fod yn ‘normal’. Bydd dyluniadau annisgwyl yn neidio allan rhwng y rhain, gan gamdroi ryw fymryn, gobeithio, yr hyn sy’n real. Er bod fy nyluniadau wedi’u dylunio ar gyfer y tu mewn i far ‘gwahanol’, eto i gyd gallwn eu gweld hefyd mewn cartref gyda drychau unigryw eu dyluniad, amrywiaeth dethol o glustogau neu gadair grand, a phob un yn dangos personoliaeth perchennog y cartref, rhywun a allai fod yn y diwydiant creadigol ac a fyddai am fod â’u tamaid bach nhw o antur yn eu cartref. Drwy grynhoi cyfres o luniadau ‘liner’, rwy’n gorffen pob un o’m patrymau yn ddigidol mewn Photoshop neu Illustrator er mwyn ychwanegu lliw. Bydd hyn yn fy ngalluogi i wneud newidiadau cyflym pan fydd angen sy’n golygu y gall pob dyluniad gael bywyd newydd.
