Art is a tool through which we, as human beings, can engage better with our sensorial capacity, thus bringing us not only closer to ourselves, but also to the world we inhabit. Developing a better ear for the chattering dialogues which exist beyond the human experience can be done so through the attunement of the senses and a shift in perspective.

The introduction of discourse and its ability to stir conflict can be advantageous to the stimulus of sensory engagement because it can inspire introspection, which in turn, can influence how we act upon this world; beginning with this space.

This body of work aims to interfere with the viewing process of its audience as it locks them its gaze from a position of authority and interrogation. The subversion of roles which plays out is designed to provoke feelings of unsettlement as the comfort of control is removed, and the observer becomes the observed.

The work calls upon and celebrates the subjective experience of its audience and speaks to the individual, to whom their characters reveal themselves through their body language and stature. They are both of this world and not, but it is their familiarity that gives them their emotive presence and occupancy of the space which has been designed as such to reinforce the feeling of being other.

Mae celf yn gyfrwng y gallwn ni, fodau dynol, ymgysylltu’n well drwyddo â’n gallu synhwyraidd ninnau gan ddod â ni, felly, nid yn unig yn nes aton ni ein hunain ond hefyd at y byd sy’n drigfan i ni. Gellir datblygu clust feinach ar gyfer y deialogau parablus sy’n bodoli y tu hwnt i’r profiad dynol drwy ymglywed â’r synhwyrau a thrwy newid persbectif.

Gall cyflwyno disgwrs a’i gallu i greu gwrthdaro fod yn fanteisiol o ran ysgogi ymgysylltiad synhwyraidd gan y gall ysbrydoli mewnsylliad a all, yn ei dro, ddylanwadu ar sut byddwn yn gweithredu yn y byd hwn; gan ddechrau â’r gofod yma.

Nod y gwaith hwn yw ymyrryd â’r broses wylio’r gynulleidfa wrth iddyn nhw hoelio’u sylw drwy syllu arnyn nhw o safle o awdurdod ac o ymholi. Mae’r tanseilio rolau sy’n digwydd wedi’i ddylunio i roi ymdeimlad o fod yn annifyr wrth i’r cysur a ddaw o fod â rheolaeth gael ei ddileu ac i’r arsylwr droi yn un sy’n cael ei arsylwi.

Mae’r gwaith yn galw ar brofiad goddrychol y gynulleidfa ac yn ei ddathlu. Mae’n siarad â’r unigolyn, bydd y cymeriadau’n datgelu eu hunain iddo/iddi drwy iaith ac ymddaliad y corff. Mae’r ddau yn perthyn i’r byd hwn a heb fod yn perthyn, ond y ffaith eu bod yn gyfarwydd sy’n rhoi eu presenoldeb emosiynol iddynt ynghyd â’r ffaith eu bod yn hawlio’r gofod a gafodd ei ddylunio i atgyfnerthu’r ymdeimlad o fod yn arall.
