Ffion Taylor

BA (Hons) Artist Designer Maker

Engagement and interactivity is the core of my practice. My aim is to create work that is thought provoking, interactive and exciting for the audience. I use my object making skills to design experiences that work across a range of topical themes including reality, sustainability and environment. These experiences are designed to both inform and challenge our perceptions in new and interesting ways. I am a multi-medium artist, working with crafted objects, often upcycling materials, using physical computing, lighting, mirrors and colour to create narratives and illusions that are beyond the mundane. I seek to make work that reflects the hidden layers that are not obvious, transforming the all-too-familiar home environment into an uncanny, humourous and creative exhibition space.

Mae ymgysylltu a rhyngweithio wrth wraidd fy arfer. Fy nod yw creu gwaith sy’n ysgogi’r meddwl, yn rhyngweithiol ac yn gyffrous ar gyfer y gynulleidfa. Rwy’n defnyddio fy sgiliau gwneud pethau i ddylunio profiadau sy’n gweithio ar draws amrywiaeth o themâu pynciol gan gynnwys realiti, cynaladwyedd a’r amgylchedd. Dylunnir y profiadau hyn i gyfeirio a herio ein canfyddiadau mewn ffyrdd newydd a chyffrous. Rwy’n artist sy’n defnyddio cyfryngau lluosog, gan weithio gyda gwrthrychau wedi’u crefftio, ac yn gwellgylchu deunyddiau’n aml, gan ddefnyddio cyfrifiadura diriaethol, goleuadau, drychau a lliw i greu naratifau a rhithiau sy’n mynd y tu hwnt i’r cyffredin. Rwy’n ceisio creu gwaith sy’n adlewyrchu’r haenau cuddiedig nad ydynt yn amlwg, gan drawsnewid yr amgylchedd cartref gor-gyfarwydd i ofod arddangosfa annaearol, digrif a chreadigol.
