The materiality of clay and the alchemy of minerals are intrinsic properties of the earth often unseen by the naked eye. I choose processes that capture the energy of transformation. Whether first in plaster, second with high end porcelain slip or thirdly by giving a kaleidoscopic firing method. The organic forms are simply carriers of these properties, morphos, enveloping shapes that register the unpredictable process of ferric fuming within the raku kiln. Using natural, combustible, site found materials enables me to literally capture the energy of a landscape. It is a process that generates distinct colour patterns and enables me to create pieces imbued with materials from a distinct location, a favourite walk, a sacred place.

The alternative, technical, unique process of forming and exploring surface properties is imminently adaptable, offering possibilities from single ornamental pieces, to larger interactive forms to installations. Each piece and composition an interplay of conscious and unconscious decisions.

Mae materoldeb clai ac alcemi mwynau yn nodweddion cynhenid o’r ddaear na ellir eu gweld â llygad noeth yn aml. Dwi’n dewis prosesau sy’n dal egni trawsnewid. Boed mewn plastr yn gyntaf, gyda’r slip porslen gorau yn ail neu yn drydydd trwy ddefnyddio dull tanio caleidosgopig. Yn syml, y ffurfiau organig yw cludwyr y nodweddion hyn, morffos, gan amgáu siapiau sy’n cofnodi’r broses anrhagweladwy o fygdarthu fferrig yn yr odyn raku. Mae defnyddio deunyddiau naturiol, hylosg a ganfyddir ar y safle yn fy ngalluogi i ddal ynni tirwedd yn llythrennol. Mae’n broses sy’n cynhyrchu patrymau lliw unigryw ac mae’n fy ngalluogi i greu darnau wedi’u trwytho â deunyddiau o leoliad arbennig, hoff le i fynd am dro, man cysegredig.

Mae’r broses amgen, dechnegol ac unigryw o ffurfio ac archwilio nodweddion arwyneb yn addasadwy’n syth , gan gynnig y posibilrwydd o ddarnau addurniadol unigol, ffurfiau rhyngweithiol mwy neu osodiadau. Mae pob darn a chyfansoddiad yn gydadwaith o benderfyniadau ymwybodol ac anymwybodol
