Interior Design should combat obsolescence and be sustainable by working in harmony with a building’s architectural heritage. To prolong the lifespan of an Interior it needs to be universal and valued by all spectrums of society. Interior Design should form connections between the interior and exterior of a building with appreciation of the surrounding area, including local, natural materials and resources.

My design approach starts by valuing and analysing a host building’s key features to form my distinctive ideation. Biophilic design helps to provide value within my work by responding to social and ethical concerns. The utilisation of biophilic design is evident within work through providing maximum exposure of the natural world. The selection of natural materials and utilisation of natural lighting increases connections to nature within my work.

My projects promote sustainability and respond to social concerns by producing an interior space that can be appreciated by all. My work has an added value as it addresses obsolescence through my selection of natural materials which age gracefully. An example being the use of hardwood showing its history as it ages, the material does not become obsolete when it matures, instead the beauty of the material intensifies. This approach to design in harmony with the buildings history, prolongs its lifespan and prepares for its future.

Dylai Dylunio Mewnol frwydro yn erbyn pethau’n darfod, a bod yn gynaliadwy drwy weithio mewn cytgord â threftadaeth bensaernïol adeilad. Er mwyn ymestyn oes dyluniad mewnol, bydd angen iddo fod yn gyffredinol ac yn cael ei werthfawrogi gan bob rhan o gymdeithas. Dylai Dylunio Mewnol ffurfio cysylltiadau rhwng y tu mewn a thu allan i adeilad gan werthfawrogi’r ardal o gwmpas gan gynnwys deunyddiau ac adnoddau lleol a naturiol.

Mae fy agwedd tuag at ddylunio yn dechrau drwy werthfawrogi a dadansoddi nodweddion allweddol yr adeilad perthnasol i gael ffurfio fy syniadaeth arbennig fy hun. Bydd dylunio bioffilig yn helpu i roi gwerth i’m gwaith drwy ymateb i bryderon cymdeithasol a moesegol. Mae defnyddio dylunio bioffilig yn amlwg o fewn gwaith drwy roi’r lle gorau i’r byd naturiol. Bydd dewis deunyddiau naturiol a defnyddio golau naturiol yn cynyddu’r cysylltiadau â natur o fewn fy ngwaith.

Bydd fy mhrosiectau’n hyrwyddo cynaliadwyedd ac yn ymateb i bryderon cymdeithasol drwy greu gofod mewnol y gall pawb ei werthfawrogi. Mae gwerth ychwanegol gan fy ngwaith gan ei fod yn mynd i’r afael â phethau’n darfod drwy fy newis o ddeunyddiau naturiol sy’n heneiddio’n osgeiddig, er enghraifft defnyddio pren caled a fydd yn dangos ei hanes wrth iddo heneiddio, ni fydd y deunydd yn darfod pan fydd yn aeddfedu ond yn hytrach bydd yn mynd yn harddach. Bydd yr agwedd hon tuag at ddylunio mewn cytgord â hanes yr adeilad, yn ymestyn ei oes ac yn paratoi ar gyfer ei ddyfodol.

My interest in creating pleasant spaces goes back to my childhood and my family background. I am the daughter of an Iranian architect, who is full of taste and motivation to create and design better surroundings. I look at everything differently and try to set a new...

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
