BA (Hons) Textiles

I am a surface pattern designer with a passion for colour and digital design. I find inspiration from my love for botanicals, nature, colour, and travel. I aim to use colour and pattern to boost mood and happiness, improve wellbeing and brighten people’s lives. I am passionate about creative products with bold colour designed with health and wellbeing in mind.

‘Prismatic Flora’ is an exciting, vibrant pattern collection, designed for the women’s swimwear and beachwear market. The collection is inspired by the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, based in Carmarthenshire and has been designed for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. The bold motifs and thought-out layouts provide a range of innovative and interactive patterns to appeal to a wide range of consumers. I chose to design a swimwear collection that would empower and help women feel confident in what they wear. The patterns I design are full of colour and personality, hoping to boost the mood and happiness of the owner. Each swim piece is reversible, fulfilling the need for multi-faceted products, reducing waste and in turn providing a needed sustainable item to the market.

Awards

‘Student Business of The Year 2022’
Awarded by the Centre for Entrepreneurship, based at Cardiff Met for my commitment and dedication to business, resulting in starting my own small business in 2021.

Rwy’n ddylunydd patrymau arwyneb gydag angerdd am liw a dylunio digidol. Rwy’n cael ysbrydoli gan fy nghariad at fotaneg, natur, lliw a theithio. Fy nod yw defnyddio lliw a phatrwm i hybu hwyliau da a hapusrwydd, gwella lles a llonni bywydau pobl. Rwy’n teimlo’n angerddol am gynhyrchion creadigol sydd â lliwiau beiddgar wedi’u dylunio gydag iechyd a lles mewn golwg.

Mae ‘Prismatic Flora’ yn gasgliad cyffrous a bywiog o batrymau, wedi’u dylunio ar gyfer y farchnad dillad nofio a dillad traeth i fenywod. Mae’r casgliad wedi’i ysbrydoli gan Ardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru yn Sir Gaerfyrddin, ac mae wedi’i ddylunio ar gyfer tymor y Gwanwyn/Haf 2023. Mae’r motiffau beiddgar a’r cynlluniau meddylgar yn darparu amrywiaeth o batrymau arloesol a rhyngweithiol i apelio at amrywiaeth eang o ddefnyddwyr. Fe wnes i ddewis dylunio casgliad o ddillad nofio a fyddai’n grymuso ac yn helpu menywod i deimlo’n hyderus yn yr hyn maen nhw’n ei wisgo. Mae’r patrymau rwy’n eu dylunio’n llawn lliw a phersonoliaeth, yn y gobaith o roi hwb i hwyliau a hapusrwydd y perchennog. Gellir troi pob dilledyn nofio tu chwith, gan fodloni’r angen am gynhyrchion amlweddog, sy’n lleihau gwastraff ac yn ei dro yn darparu eitem gynaliadwy angenrheidiol ar gyfer y farchnad.
