In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any distraction. I aim for this to encourage the viewer to focus their attention on the perspectives they are forming and urge them away from their subjective associations of colour combinations during their experience.

Specifically, for my degree show piece, I have constructed an interactive element in my work, forming a subconscious relationship between viewers. The lack of control the viewer has over their immediate environment, further encourages their perception to be formed free from interference or bias.

Yn fy ymarfer cyfredol rwy’n ymwneud â gwrthrychedd a ffenomenoleg lliw. Drwy ddefnyddio cyfryngau megis golau ac asetad lliw, mae gan fy ngwaith cyfredol ffocws bwriadol ac mae’n ddirodres, gan ganiatáu ystyried lliw fel hynodrwydd heb dynnu sylw o gwbl. Fy mwriad yw y bydd yn annog y gwyliwr i ganolbwyntio’i sylw ar y safbwyntiau y maent yn eu ffurfio ac yn eu hannog i ffwrdd oddi wrth eu cysylltiadau goddrychol o gyfuniadau o liwiau yn ystod eu profiad.

Yn benodol ar gyfer fy narn gradd, rwyf wedi creu elfen ryngweithiol i fy ngwaith, gan ffurfio perthynas isymwybodol rhwng gwylwyr. Mae’r diffyg rheolaeth sydd gan y gwyliwr dros ei amgylchedd uniongyrchol yn annog eu canfyddiad ymhellach i’w ffurfio’n rhydd o ymyrraeth na thuedd.

My artwork was initially inspired by the rave scene which is usually an intense environment of music, colour and lights. I decided to recreate the feelings that my experience evoked, with the use of illuminative acrylics and spray paints on canvas. As spray painting...

Non-linear narratives such as unreliable memories, leaky dreams and deja vu are a central reference within my practice. I address the structure of these forms of narrative using repetition, replication and iterations of time. My work is largely sculptural, using...

Exploring the fragmentation of memory through the physicality of found objects and the spoken word, my work has become an archive of my family history. Due to the archival nature of my work, I replicate ways of preserving my objects through the attentiveness of their...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
