Throughout my artistic practice I have used photography to get a greater understanding of peoples insecurities about their bodies. In my photographs I have been focussing on singular body parts that people have told me they are most self conscious of. To get a deeper appreciation of the insecurities that people have about themselves I have also been asking for quotes on what they are most insecure about, as well as the reasoning behind it, and trying to find creative ways in which to display these feelings and thoughts about themselves.

I have been looking in to peoples insecurities as I find it interesting how people view themselves in such a negative way; as well as how these body image problems affect them in their everyday lives. I have been using photography as a medium to show that these flaws that people think they have should be celebrated rather than hidden, yet still keeping the people photographed anonymous in order to make them more comfortable.

Throughout my whole artistic practice I have focussed on body image issues; throughout my sketchbooks containing life drawings as well as photos. It is important to me that we strive to help people accept and love their bodies, and the way I have chosen to do this is by photographing their bodies that they are most insecure about in an attempt to show them that they should love these parts of themselves as they make them who they are.

Drwy gydol fy ymarfer artistig rwyf wedi defnyddio ffotograffiaeth i gael deall yn well ansicrwydd pobl ynglŷn â’u cyrff. Yn fy ffotograffau rwyf wedi canolbwyntio ar rannau unigol o’r corff y mae pobl wedi dweud wrthyf eu bod yn teimlo’r mwyaf o gywilydd yn eu cylch. Er mwyn gwerthfawrogi’n fwy yr ansicrwydd sydd gan bobl amdanyn nhw eu hunain, rwyf wedi bod yn gofyn hefyd iddyn nhw ddyfynnu am beth maen nhw’n teimlo’n fwyaf ansicr, yn ogystal â’r rhesymu y tu cefn iddo a cheisio cael hyd i ffyrdd creadigol lle gall y teimladau a’r meddyliau hyn amdanyn nhw eu hunain gael eu harddangos.

Rwyf wedi bod yn archwilio ansicrwydd pobl gan fod sut mae pobl yn synied amdanyn nhw eu hunain mewn ffordd mor negyddol, yn ddiddorol i fi, yn ogystal â sut mae’r problemau hyn ynglŷn â delwedd eu cyrff yn effeithio arnyn nhw yn eu bywydau bob dydd. Rwyf wedi defnyddio ffotograffiaeth yn gyfrwng i ddangos y dylai’r namau hyn, y mae pobl yn credu sydd ganddynt, fod yn cael eu dathlu yn hytrach na’u cuddio, ond fe wnes i barhau i gadw’r bobl yn y ffotograffau yn ddienw er mwyn iddyn nhw deimlo’n fwy cyffyrddus.

Drwy gydol fy ymarfer artistig rwyf wedi canolbwyntio ar broblemau delwedd y corff; ac yn fy llyfrau braslunio i gyd mae bywluniadau yn ogystal â ffotograffau. Mae’n bwysig i fi ein bod yn gwneud ein gorau i helpu pobl i dderbyn ac i garu eu cyrff, a’r ffordd a ddewisais i wneud hyn yw drwy dynnu lluniau ffotograffig o’u cyrff y maen nhw’n fwyaf ansicr yn eu cylch er mwyn ceisio dangos iddyn nhw y dylen nhw garu’r rhannau hyn ohonyn nhw eu hunain gan mai’r rhain sy’n eu gwneud yr hyn ydynt.

My work explores the relationship between a space and the art in it. I have become intrigued by how a painting can effect a space, exploring corporate art, it can be used to influence productivity and creativity in that environment. With influence from Colour Theory,...

We have never been so connected yet so alone. The internet has become integral to our daily lives, no element of our existence seems untouched by it. But have we been caught and paralysed in the web? We are constantly on display and exposed, yet anonymous. We seem to...

I would describe my art as confessional; I take inspiration from my life events and feelings surrounding these experiences, I translate this through my work. I see my practice as a portal from my life in which I can lose myself and explore the deepest truths of my...

I have recently been exploring ideas related to the home and memory, and how they form identity. I am interested in how to defy the imperative to follow a linear structure in personal narrative and instead look for a more honest depiction of memory, which is itself...
