BA (Hons) Fine Art

I express myself through the process of construction through deconstruction, and most of my crafts include homemade DIY guitars and 3 string slide guitars. some projects include creating instruments out of used hurling sticks, skateboards, and various other objects. I like to combine engineering and creativity which is informed by my background in engineering and advanced knowledge of mechanics and physics, this plays a key role in my art work through the uses of string dynamics, harmonics and intonation, and alongside with this I use electrical understanding to amplify my works electronically to create the sound for performances with my artwork.

As well as the sculpture-based artwork, I also delve in the music scene and performance art. I have a recording studio at home so any projects I make I can use this in my music producing to create soundscapes. I like pairing music and performance artwork together as it brings in a whole new element to my practice, as I have a wide range of knowledge in multiple fields of art forms.

In addition to the physical gallery I have created an online virtual gallery using HTML and JavaScript code to showcase a nomadic gallery, creating an interactive experience to show the demonstrations of each guitar project I have created.

Rwy’n mynegi fy hun drwy broses o adeiladu drwy ddadadeiladu, ac mae’r rhan fwyaf o fy ngwaith crefft yn cynnwys gitarau DIY cartref a gitarau sleid tri thant. Mae fy mhrosiectau yn cynnwys llunio offerynnau o ffyn hyrli, sglefrfyrddau a gwrthrychau amrywiol eraill. Rwy’n hoffi cyfuno peirianneg a chreadigrwydd, ac mae hynny’n cael ei lywio gan fy nghefndir mewn peirianneg a gwybodaeth ddatblygedig o fecaneg a ffiseg. Mae hynny’n rhan allweddol o’m gwaith celf, gyda’r defnydd o ddynameg, harmoneg a thonyddiaeth tannau, ac ar y cyd â hynny, rwy’n defnyddio dealltwriaeth o drydan i fwyhau’r gwaith yn electronig i greu’r sain ar gyfer perfformiadau gyda fy ngwaith celf.

Yn ogystal â’r gwaith celf sy’n seiliedig ar gerfluniau, rydw i hefyd yn ymchwilio i’r sin gerddoriaeth a chelfyddyd berfformiadol. Mae gen i stiwdio recordio gartref felly gallaf ei defnyddio i gynhyrchu cerddoriaeth a chreu seinweddau ar gyfer unrhyw brosiect. Rwy’n hoffi paru cerddoriaeth a gwaith celfyddyd berfformiadol, gan ei fod yn cyflwyno elfen hollol newydd i’m hymarfer, ac yn manteisio ar fy ystod eang o wybodaeth mewn sawl maes o ffurfiau celf.

Yn ogystal â’r oriel ddiriaethol, creais oriel rithwir ar-lein gan ddefnyddio cod HTML a JavaScript i lunio oriel grwydrol, gan greu profiad rhyngweithiol i arddangos pob prosiect gitâr a grëwyd gennyf.

My artwork was initially inspired by the rave scene which is usually an intense environment of music, colour and lights. I decided to recreate the feelings that my experience evoked, with the use of illuminative acrylics and spray paints on canvas. As spray painting...

Our species has become increasingly disconnected from nature. I focus on landscapes of personal significance and/or landscapes that have been disrupted by industrial use. Materials from these sites (often rocks, muds, and bricks) are used through a process-orientated...

Non-linear narratives such as unreliable memories, leaky dreams and deja vu are a central reference within my practice. I address the structure of these forms of narrative using repetition, replication and iterations of time. My work is largely sculptural, using...

Exploring the fragmentation of memory through the physicality of found objects and the spoken word, my work has become an archive of my family history. Due to the archival nature of my work, I replicate ways of preserving my objects through the attentiveness of their...

In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
