This collection is made from what many see as construction materials – plywood and concrete. The arrangement of these materials to create furniture allows viewers to see them in a new light. The patterns incorporated are inspired by the industrial landscape of my childhood. Wire fence panels and factory towers are among the many things that influenced this collection. The colour palette, as well as wanting to use concrete tiles as decorative panels throughout the design, was also inspired by the industrial feel my home town has. The low lying, minimalistic style mimics the skyline made up of low buildings with corrugated steel roofs. The pink gloss paint cuts through all the harsh materials and patterns used, just as the pink-hued sunsets blanket the steel town. Hand dyed material envelops the cushions, the grey colour compliments the concrete while the tie-dye incorporates another of my patterns.

Mae’r casgliad hwn wedi’i wneud o’r hyn y mae llawer yn ei weld fel deunyddiau adeiladu – pren haenog a choncrit. Mae trefnu’r deunyddiau hyn i greu dodrefn yn galluogi gwylwyr i’w gweld mewn golau newydd. Mae’r patrymau a ymgorfforir ynddynt wedi’u hysbrydoli gan dirwedd ddiwydiannol fy mhlentyndod. Mae paneli ffensys gwifren a thyrau ffatrïoedd ymhlith y pethau niferus a ddylanwadodd ar y casgliad hwn. Cafodd y palet lliwiau, yn ogystal â’r awydd i ddefnyddio teils concrit fel paneli addurnol yn y cynllun drwyddo draw, ei ysbrydoli gan y teimlad diwydiannol sydd gan fy nhref enedigol hefyd. Mae’r arddull isel, finimalaidd yn dynwared y gorwel sy’n cynnwys adeiladau isel gyda thoeau dur rhychiog. Mae’r paent sglein pinc yn torri drwy’r holl ddeunyddiau a phatrymau caled a ddefnyddir, yn union fel mae’r machlud haul pinc yn gorchuddio’r dref ddur. Mae deunydd sydd wedi’i liwio â llaw yn amgáu’r clustogau, mae’r lliw llwyd yn cyd-fynd â’r concrit tra bod y tie-dye yn ymgorffori un arall o’m patrymau.
