Hidden Wealth

What is value?

A concept taken for granted due to value being everywhere. Value is seen in many ways in the modern world. It can be made through the movements of our hands to important memories created throughout our lives. From taking a photograph, a finger swipe on your phone, to exchanging money.

I have chosen the explore the concept of value in the media of sculpture. I used materials that appeared unwanted and worthless, giving a sense of purpose and function back into the objects. My materials were sourced from recycling bins, skips, studio spaces, and scrap stores around Cardiff.

In my current practice I am concerned with the objectivity and phenomenology of colour. Through using media such as light and coloured acetate, my present work is intentionally focused and uncluttered, allowing colour to be considered as a singularity without any...

With a love for colour my work addresses form and shape and the impact this has on a space. I am demonstrating how the use of bright colour can create maximum optical impact. I’m interested in pattern and repetition to create a visual aesthetic whilst whilst working...
