Through combining my interest of organic structures found in nature, with my tendency to become immersed in thoughts, I have created a series of prints which reflect my subconscious.
The process of collagraph printing allows me to construct these ideas in a physical way. I use familiar materials to create my plates; sculpting their forms to portray elements of my character. These are echoed in the reserved condition of the ghost prints, whose placid virtues mirror my own. Using textural influence from the print, as well as my own constructions, I draw directly onto the pieces, extending the tangible portrayal of my interior notions. The end image is reminiscent of a landscape; a series of forms and lines which together depict my abstracted reality.
