Lauren Isaacs

BA (Hons) Textiles

As a surface pattern designer, I am driven to create from personal journeys and experience, encapsulating a memory or scene in an illustration. My process consists of creating distinct motifs through the combination of hand-rendered and digital techniques. Often starting with paintings and sketches that are then digitally modified in Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate for an enhanced stylized and graphic quality.

The inspiration for my current collection ‘Sicilian Summer’ derives from my personal vision and love for the region, depicting colour saturated scenes from botanical gardens and classic Italian architecture. I enjoy using a warm and rich colour palette in favour of resonating the warmth of the sun and the comfort this exudes to the viewer. In this collection, my colours range from the terracotta infused reds and soft ochres to the organic, olive-toned greens and classic creams. My collection provides a perfect opportunity to bring the highlights of the outside world into your home.

Fel dylunydd patrymau arwyneb, rwyf wedi fy symbylu i greu ar sail teithiau a phrofiadau personol, gan grynhoi atgof neu olygfa mewn darluniad. Mae fy mhroses yn ymwneud â chreu motifau nodedig trwy gyfuno technegau a rendrwyd â llaw a digidol. Gan ddechrau’n aml gyda phaentiadau a brasluniau sydd wedyn yn cael eu haddasu’n ddigidol mewn Illustrator, Photoshop neu Procreate ar gyfer ansawdd arddulliedig a graffig datblygedig.

Daw’r ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer fy nghasgliad cyfredol ‘Sicilian Summer’ o fy ngweledigaeth bersonol a chariad at y rhanbarth, gan ddangos golygfeydd gorlawn â lliw o gerddi botaneg a phensaernïaeth Eidalaidd glasurol. Rwy’n mwynhau defnyddio palet lliwiau cynnes a chyfoethog er mwyn efelychu cynhesrwydd yr haul a’r cysur y mae hyn yn ei roi i’r gwyliwr. Yn y casgliad hwn, mae fy lliwiau’n amrywio o goch â naws teracota ac ocrau meddal i wyrdd organig â thôn olewydd i liwiau hufen clasurol. Mae fy nghasgliad yn darparu cyfle perffaith i ddod ag uchafbwyntiau y byd y tu allan i mewn i’ch cartref.
