As a product designer I aim to develop solutions to tackle real world problems to improve the world we live in project by project. I have a passion of the details and since starting in CSAD my skills and knowledge have improved profoundly. Throughout my time at CSAD I have completed a range of projects including, PPE Shoe Cover Dispenser, DIY Extendable Screwdriver, ME-4 Mars Utility Rover and many more, this has given me a strong and expansive design experience. I began at CSAD on the BA course and since changing to the BSc my love for design has only grown. CSAD has given me an excellent platform to begin my carrier and I am excited to see what is next.
Fel dylunydd cynnyrch rwy’n anelu at ddatblygu atebion i fynd i’r afael â phroblemau’r byd go iawn i wella’r byd rydyn ni’n byw ynddo fesul prosiect. Rwy’n angerddol am fanylion ac ers dechrau yn CSAD mae fy sgiliau a gwybodaeth wedi gwella’n arw. Trwy gydol fy amser yn CSAD, rwyf wedi cwblhau ystod o brosiectau gan gynnwys, Dosbarthwr Gorchudd Esgidiau PPE, Sgriwdreifer Estynadwy DIY, ME-4 Mars Utility Rover a llawer mwy. Mae hyn wedi rhoi profiad dylunio cryf ac eang i mi. Dechreuais yn CSAD ar y cwrs BA ac ers newid i’r BSc mae fy nghariad at ddylunio wedi parhau i dyfu. Mae CSAD wedi rhoi platfform rhagorol i mi gychwyn fy ngyrfa ac rwy’n gyffrous i weld beth sydd nesaf.
Detachable Wood Chisel
I identified a need to improve construction tools to be better for the user, my solution is a detachable wood chisel set with an accompanying storage case. The product gives the user the adaptability needed to switch between blade heads improving the workflow of the user whilst reducing the amount of storage needed for construction tools.
PPE Shoe Cover Dispenser
For my third-year tech report I identified an underserved need to mitigate the spread of germs through secondary transmission within high-risk areas such as operating theatres. My solution is a high-capacity dispenser that can rapidly distribute PPE to hospital staff, the solution made it quick and easy for staff to remain safe whilst working.
First Aid Station
I Identified a need for an improvement in the storage of health and safety equipment in public areas. My solution is a wall mounted first aid station that can become a portable first aid kit so that any nearby first aid trained people can assist in an emergency until.
ECO Bollard
For my major project I entered the RSA design competition, looking at how to guarantee people’s right to have clean air. My solution was an environment purifying ECO bollard that passively eradicates pollutants from the air. The product can be installed in urban areas creating a barrier between pedestrians and road users.
