I believe in design that helps us in our daily lives, whether that’s physically or mentally. Improving individual’s standard of living is my driving principle. All of my work is designed to improve wellbeing, productivity and happiness. My research focuses on how lighting can be used to better our mental health. Mental health is a fundamental element in establishing and maintaining positive well-being, it’s important to surround ourselves with daily objects that help. I use porcelain for its translucency, delicacy, and strength and through my research of glaze, I have combined these with tactile black lights which turn the unconscious gaze into conscious thought. These are perfect mediums for minimal lighting that reminds us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

Dwi’n credu mewn dylunio sy’n ein helpu yn ein bywydau bob dydd, boed hynny’n gorfforol neu’n feddyliol. Gwella safon byw unigolion yw’r egwyddor sy’n fy sbarduno ymlaen. Mae fy holl waith wedi’i gynllunio i wella llesiant, cynhyrchiant a hapusrwydd. Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar sut gellir defnyddio goleuadau i wella ein hiechyd meddwl. Mae iechyd meddwl yn elfen sylfaenol wrth sefydlu a chynnal llesiant cadarnhaol, mae’n bwysig ein bod yn amgylchynu ein hunain â gwrthrychau bob dydd sy’n helpu. Dwi’n defnyddio porslen oherwydd ei dryloywder, ei geinder a’i gryfder, a thrwy fy ymchwil i wydredd, dwi wedi cyfuno’r rhain â goleuadau du cyffyrddol sy’n troi syllu anymwybodol yn feddyliau ymwybodol. Maen nhw’n gyfryngau perffaith ar gyfer golau minimol sy’n ein hatgoffa i arafu ac ailgysylltu â ni ein hunain.
