This body of work explores the issue of gender stereotypes and the unconscious bias we develop as a result of continued exposure. The biases we develop, in turn, influence our behaviour towards others. It remains widely known that gender-stereotypes exist within our everyday culture, but are so deeply engrained we no longer acknowledge them.

Bias Sans is a typeface designed with gender-stereotypes in mind, paying particular focus to male and female stereotypes. There are three weights within the typeface; Feminine, Neutral and Masculine. Its aim—to raise awareness and spark conversations of these stereotypes and the unconscious biases we all posses as a result.

Mae’r gwaith hwn yn archwilio stereoteipiau rhywedd a’r rhagfarn anymwybodol a ddatblygwn o ganlyniad i amlygiad parhaus. Yn eu tro, mae’r rhagfarnau a ddatblygwn yn dylanwadu ar ein hymddygiad tuag at eraill. Mae’n hysbys o hyd bod stereoteipiau rhywedd yn bodoli yn ein diwylliant o ddydd i ddydd, ond, maent mor reddfol, nad ydym yn eu cydnabod mwyach.

Ffurfdeip yw Bias Sans wedi’i gynllunio gyda stereoteipiau rhywedd mewn golwg, gan ganolbwyntio’n benodol ar stereoteipiau gwrywaidd a benywaidd. Ceir tri phwysoliad i’r ffurfwedd; Benywaidd, Niwtral a Gwrywaidd. Ei nod yw codi ymwybyddiaeth ac annog sgyrsiau am y stereoteipiau hyn a’r rhagfarnau anymwybodol sydd gan bob un ohonom o ganlyniad i hynny.
