The issue of substance abuse mainly affecting teens in my hometown inspired me to create images that responded to this theme and by looking at this problem, I created imagery through the medium of screen-printing to express ‘subtle’ substance abuse. My work aims to change the perception on such issues that effect todays society and how I can make a change, raise awareness and conversate with others.

Despite the issues in my hometown, Blaenavon will forever be apart of my life, my practice and most importantly, my heart.

Cefais fy ysbrydoli gan y broblem camddefnyddio sylweddau a oedd yn effeithio fwyaf ar bobl ifanc yn eu harddegau yn fy nhref enedigol i greu delweddau a oedd yn ymateb i’r thema hon a thrwy edrych ar y broblem hon, lluniais ddelweddau drwy gyfrwng sgrin-argraffu er mwyn cyfleu cam-drin sylweddau mewn ffordd ‘gynnil’. Nod fy ngwaith yw newid y canfyddiad o faterion o’r fath sy’n effeithio ar gymdeithas heddiw a’r ffordd y gallaf wneud newid, codi ymwybyddiaeth a sgwrsio ag eraill.

Er gwaethaf y problemau yn fy nhref enedigol, bydd Blaenafon bob amser yn rhan o’m bywyd, fy ngwaith ac, yn bwysicach oll, fy nghalon.
