Robyn Moore

BA (Hons) Illustration

My work reflects a sense of fascination and wonder in the world, often drawing inspiration from nature. I enjoy observing what others tend to ignore.

This project is informed by visual research into topics of personal interest, and responds to significant current world events. The work aims to be helpful in explaining subject matter through a series of posters and GIFs, using mixed media. I feel that mixing analogue and digital processes produces visual results in which text and image can work together to communicate strongly. Being interested in a wide range of topics, my aim is to give each one a clear visual context for its respective audience.

I usually start with traditional media such as watercolours, drawing ink, colour pencils or fine liner, and then edit digitally. Hopefully the effect is fresh and exciting.

Mae fy ngwaith yn adlewyrchu ymdeimlad o gyfaredd a rhyfeddod yn y byd, gan gymryd ysbrydoliaeth o fyd natur yn aml. Rwy’n mwynhau sylwi ar bethau mae eraill yn dueddol o’u hanwybyddu.

Mae’r prosiect hwn yn seiliedig ar ymchwil weledol i bynciau o ddiddordeb personol i fi, ac yn ymateb i ddigwyddiadau cyfredol arwyddocaol yn y byd. Nod y gwaith yw egluro pynciau drwy gyfres o bosteri a GIFs, gan ddefnyddio cyfryngau cymysg. Rwy’n teimlo bod cymysgu prosesau analog a digidol yn cynhyrchu canlyniadau gweledol lle gall testun a llun gydweithio i gyfathrebu’n gryf. Gan fod gen i ddiddordeb mewn ystod eang o bynciau, fy nod yw rhoi un cyd-destun gweledol clir i’w gynulleidfa briodol.

Rwyf fel arfer yn dechrau gyda chyfryngau traddodiadol fel dyfrliwiau, inc darlunio, pensiliau lliw neu bensel linellu fain, ac yna’n golygu’n ddigidol. Gobeithio bod yr effaith yn ffres a chyffrous.
