Migration
The movement of birds when they migrate is expressed in an abstract, narrative and contemporary form. Not exact or literal, but rather “constructed” and “deconstructed” in a two- dimensional and three-dimensional form, exploring different bird species and their movement during the migration process.
These slab-built vessels are juxtaposed and deconstructed using porcelain clay; a delicate material, flimsy when moist and fragile when leather-hard and bone dry. The purpose of their deconstruction is to re-arrange the pattern of migration, the decal prints on both interior and exterior creating a panoramic view suggesting sequence, time passing and energy of free movement.
