There is so much beauty to be found in art history, particularly the figurative work of Rodin, Kahlo and Moore. There is an energy contained in the quality of line that excites the eye, leading it across form and canvas creating a kind of rhythm that brings the viewer joy. I have always used art as a way to keep positive and hope that my figurative ware evokes the same in others. Such ‘joy’ is a simple but ever more important aim. The ubiquitous forms represent the absence felt by many during COVID19 but at the same time maintains the sense of connectivity between us at this point in our collective history.

Mae cymaint o harddwch i’w weld yn hanes celf, yn enwedig yng ngwaith ffigurol Rodin, Kahlo a Moore. Mae egni yn ansawdd y llinell sy’n cyffroi’r llygad, gan ei harwain ar draws ffurf a chynfas a chreu math o rythm sy’n dod â llawenydd i’r gwyliwr. Rwyf bob amser wedi defnyddio celf fel ffordd o gadw’n bositif a gobeithio bod fy narnau ffigurol yn ennyn yr un peth mewn pobl eraill. Mae ‘llawenydd’ o’r fath yn nod syml ond mwyfwy pwysig. Mae’r ffurfiau hollbresennol yn cynrychioli’r absenoldeb mae llawer yn ei deimlo yn ystod COVID19 ond ar yr un pryd yn cynnal yr ymdeimlad o gysylltedd rhyngom ni ar yr adeg hon yn ein cyd-hanes.
