The Illustrators Mind

My ceramic pieces have been influenced by my self-perception. Through illustration I have explored visualising my own thoughts with regards my emotional state. I have created ceramic vessels as a metaphor for my identity in which these illustrations can be displayed. I have used sequential imagery to animate these cylindrical head like forms. Certain imagery deals with situations in my own life like the conflict interest of being torn in two. The dramatic nature of the illustration helps to define the strength of emotion.

As a maker, I have always had an interest in clay and illustration, which I have explored throughout my time at university. I am interested in the traditional processes in both object making and drawing and how they can come together.
