I believe that being a designer allows for the opportunities to provide solutions and improvements to a user’s lifestyle. It is my driving principle to communicate the emotions of design ideas to a project until a valid problem is resolved.
My focus as a designer is to improve the user’s experience by understanding the emotional link to a problem. I approach these problems using an iterative design process where the design solution is developed around the interactions with the user. My strengths are within the detailed research and innovative concept development of a design.
During my degree I have been a part of multiple successful projects, for example I was nominated at the w2w design awards for my work on a furniture solution to a collaborative co-working space. The project was developed around circular economy and making the product as sustainable as possible. I was able to push my engineering skills during my technical project which was to design a method of measuring how much pressure is sustained across an athletes shoe in order to provide an output to the user for when a shoe is in an unnatural negative state. As a designer I believe it is massively important to design a product that will be beneficial to a user’s life, in my final major project at university I carried out extensive research into the state of happiness and designed a product that better impacts the number one solution to happiness, family.

Fel rhan o’m cwrs gradd, bues i’n rhan o sawl prosiect llwyddiannus. Er enghraifft, cefais fy enwebu yng ngwobrau dylunio w2w am fy ngwaith yn creu dodrefn ar gyfer gweithle cydweithredol. Datblygwyd y prosiect ar sail gofynion economi gylchol a sicrhau bod y cynnyrch mor gynaliadwy â phosib. Llwyddais i ddatblygu fy sgiliau peirianneg yn ystod fy mhrosiect technegol, sef cynllunio dull o fesur faint o bwysedd sydd ledled esgid athletwr er mwyn darparu allbwn i’r defnyddiwr pan mae’r esgid mewn cyflwr negyddol annaturiol. Fel dylunydd, credaf ei bod hi’n hollbwysig dylunio cynnyrch a fydd o fudd i fywyd defnyddiwr. Yn fy mhrosiect mawr olaf yn y brifysgol, cynhaliais ymchwil helaeth i’r cyflwr o hapusrwydd a dylunio cynnyrch sy’n cael effaith well ar yr ateb gorau i hapusrwydd, sef teulu.
To design a household family calendar device/system that uses modern technology to assist the user to stay better in touch and up-to-date with important family members and events. The product must prompt users with pro-active reminders, in order to better organise daily routines.
