Newport Library Design Proposal
The concept behind the design was for a new modern library to be located near Fairis shopping centre in Newport. The building design consider river side building as well as using exterior glazing to maximise views around the site. As the building was near the shopping centre i wanted the exterior of the building to fit in the site so I decided on having a similar sort of pattern cladding or familiar colour which is why i have choosing the exterior material and colour that the building has.
The secondary bit of the building is the Cafe area. The cafe area is a standard open cafe area with seating food display and fridges displaying drinks and as has a unisex toilet than can be used by disabled customers as well. The library building contains lecture room/ meeting rooms that can be used by third parties. The library also contains an Exhibition area as well as a Music/Audio facility.
