BA (Hons) Interior Design

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children.

In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for children with additional needs and to support their families. I was only 14 when I encountered a boy diagnosed with cerebral palsy who not only had to be assisted by his caregiver but a speech-generating device attached to his wheelchair. The use of this assistive technology is what initiated my extensive interest in inclusive design.

Hence why I am intrinsically multicultural, attentive, innovative and organised as an individual. Consciously channeling these characteristics towards productive shores, considering the physical environment and social sensitivity in contemporary societies. Calling upon the design industry to anxiously form teams from varying backgrounds to ensure that the completed project is representative of the public.

Currently in the final year of my Bachelors program of Interior Design, I have acquired relevant industry knowledge and a designers frame of mind: space informing form informing function. My project and dissertation speak for my research abilities, conceptualising ideas and maturing them, including meticulous design techniques.

Appreciating that we are in an increasingly international world with my native tongue being French, my English fluent and my Spanish developing I am able to communicate and work well in a collective but also have the resourcefulness to work alone.

Mae’r chwilfrydedd sydd ynof mewn perthynas â chreu dimensiynau cynhwysol yn deillio o deithio’n helaeth ac yn bennaf o gael cysylltiad agos â phlant anabl.

Yn 2015, gwirfoddolais gyda sefydliad o’r enw Allsorts yn Stroud, sydd â’r nod o ddarparu gweithgareddau hwyliog i blant ag anghenion ychwanegol a chefnogi eu teuluoedd. Dim ond 14 oeddwn i pan ddeuthum ar draws bachgen a oedd wedi cael diagnosis o barlys yr ymennydd a oedd nid yn unig yn gorfod cael ei gynorthwyo gan ei roddwyr gofal ond gan ddyfais cynhyrchu lleferydd ynghlwm wrth ei gadair olwyn. Y defnydd o’r dechnoleg gynorthwyol hon yw’r hyn a sbardunodd fy niddordeb helaeth mewn dylunio cynhwysol.

Dyna pam rwy’n gynhenid amlddiwylliannol, yn sylwgar, yn arloesol ac yn drefnus fel unigolyn. Gan sianelu’r nodweddion hyn yn fwriadol tuag at dasgau cynhyrchiol, gan ystyried yr amgylchedd ffisegol a sensitifrwydd cymdeithasol mewn cymdeithasau cyfoes. Gan alw ar y diwydiant dylunio i fynd ati i ffurfio timau o gefndiroedd amrywiol i sicrhau bod y prosiect gorffenedig yn cynrychioli’r cyhoedd.

Ar hyn o bryd, a minnau ym mlwyddyn olaf fy rhaglen Baglor Dylunio Mewnol, rydw i wedi caffael gwybodaeth berthnasol i’r diwydiant a ffordd o feddwl dylunydd: gofod yn hysbysu ffurf yn hysbysu swyddogaeth. Mae fy mhrosiect a’m traethawd hir yn tystio i’m galluoedd ymchwil, gan gysyniadoli syniadau a’u haeddfedu, gan gynnwys technegau dylunio manwl.

Gan werthfawrogi ein bod mewn byd sy’n gynyddol ryngwladol, gyda Ffrangeg yn famiaith i mi, fy Saesneg yn rhugl a’m Sbaeneg yn datblygu, gallaf gyfathrebu a gweithio’n dda ar y cyd ond mae’r dyfeisgarwch gen i hefyd i weithio ar fy mhen fy hun.
