BA (Hons) Interior Design

My creative approach is driven mainly by human presence, mood and experience. I believe a good design defines by the positive effects that an interior space can have on society. By having a sound knowledge of Biophilia, I create projects that act as a bridging gap between human and nature connections. Nature influences human emotions, behaviour, health and wellbeing; considering these factors in a physical environment can have a variety of meanings and interpretations for users.

My strengths revolve around the concept stage with a fresh yet profound design approach. I always begin my design process by evoking emotions of how a space should look and feel, capturing a vision of mood and atmosphere through concept sketches before applying them to actual production. As a result, the initiative encourages me to create an atmospheric setting that can foster connections between the host building and the community.

Mae fy null creadigol yn cael ei lywio’n bennaf gan bresenoldeb dynol, naws a phrofiad. Rwy’n credu bod dyluniad da’n cael ei ddiffinio gan yr effeithiau cadarnhaol y gall gofod mewnol eu cael ar gymdeithas. Gyda gwybodaeth gadarn am Bioffilia, rwy’n creu prosiectau sy’n gweithredu fel bwlch pontio rhwng cysylltiadau dynol a natur. Mae natur yn dylanwadu ar emosiynau, ymddygiad ac iechyd a lles dynol; gall fod gan ystyried y ffactorau hyn mewn amgylchedd ffisegol amrywiaeth o ystyron a dehongliadau i ddefnyddwyr.

Mae fy nghryfderau’n ymwneud â’r cam cysyniad gyda dull dylunio ffres ond dwfn. Rwy’n dechrau fy mhroses ddylunio bob amser drwy ysgogi emosiynau’n ymwneud â sut y dylai gofod edrych a theimlo, gan ddal gweledigaeth o naws ac awyrgylch drwy frasluniau cysyniad cyn eu cymhwyso i’w cynhyrchu. O ganlyniad, mae’r fenter yn fy annog i greu lleoliad atmosfferig a all feithrin cysylltiadau rhwng yr adeilad lletyol a’r gymuned.

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...

I approach my projects with the goal of giving the structure a function that is identifiable and related to its users through its internal design, which converts the space into a beautiful environment for the intended experience while also delivering positive and...
