BA (Hons) Interior Design

In a world where sustainability has not completely reached its highest level, I rely on design, to create spaces where sustainable practice is the underpinning principle of my work. My intention to approach the process will be to focus on the use of natural materials, ecological energy and design for disassembly of building waste and recycling.

My understanding about of design methods allows me to build engagement between a person and an interior atmospheric setting, thus producing the ideal result of a combination between sustainable design and a client’s culture and requirements.

This enables me to apply my own design ethos and above all, respect the use of vernacular technologies combined with contemporary aesthetics and technology. My projects explore how my culture can create an impact on British dwellings and public spaces.

Mewn byd lle nad yw cynaliadwyedd wedi cyrraedd ei lefel uchaf yn llwyr, rwy’n dibynnu ar ddylunio i greu mannau lle mai egwyddor sylfaenol fy ngwaith yw arfer cynaliadwy. Fy mwriad wrth fynd at y broses fydd canolbwyntio ar ddefnyddio deunyddiau naturiol, ynni ecolegol a dyluniad ar gyfer dadosod gwastraff adeiladu ac ailgylchu.

Mae fy nealltwriaeth o ddulliau dylunio yn caniatáu imi feithrin ymgysylltiad rhwng person a lleoliad atmosfferig mewnol, a thrwy hynny gynhyrchu’r canlyniad delfrydol, sef cyfuniad o ddylunio cynaliadwy a diwylliant a gofynion cleient.

Mae hyn yn fy ngalluogi i gymhwyso fy ethos dylunio fy hun ac yn anad dim, parchu’r defnydd o dechnolegau gwerinol ynghyd ag estheteg a thechnoleg gyfoes. Mae fy mhrosiectau’n archwilio sut y gall fy niwylliant greu effaith ar anheddau a mannau cyhoeddus ym Mhrydain.

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
