I created a response to the concept of Freedom. It’s a reflection of the colour, lights and the music of rave culture. it’s a story of stepping into those lights to move alongside them and express that individual brightness within. The colour of the garments is only visible when there is a flash of light or a bright surrounding, reflecting upon the way that the wearer may feel in these surroundings. Comfort is also a major component of my pieces, emphasising that even in a stressful situation or in a loud and bustling crowd the comfort is still a priority. My collection uses materials that I have never worked with before in addition to the development of new patterning skills. However, as I developed my designs and as I worked closely with my lecturers and my classmates, I created a collection that I am incredibly proud to call mine. As I developed my work, I found that I also wanted to experiment with new pattern cutting too and I discovered new ways incorporating those patterns to new areas of garments, (referencing the drop hole pattern on both pieces). To summarise, I am incredibly proud of this collection, I tried many new things, developed my designers handwriting and came out with an outcome that is completely me.

Rwyf wedi creu ymateb i’r cysyniad o Ryddid. Mae’n adlewyrchiad o liw, golau a cherddoriaeth y diwylliant ‘rave’. Stori am gamu i’r goleuadau hynny i symud gyda nhw a mynegi’r disgleirdeb mewnol hwnnw ydyw. Dim ond pan geir fflach o oleuni neu amgylchedd llachar y gellir gweld lliw’r dillad, gan adlewyrchu’r modd y gallai’r gwisgwr fod yn teimlo yn yr amgylchedd hwnnw. Mae cysur hefyd yn gydran hollbwysig yn fy narnau, gan bwysleisio fod cysur yn dal yn flaenoriaeth hyd yn oed mewn sefyllfa o straen neu mewn tyrfa swnllyd a byrlymus. Mae fy nghasgliad yn defnyddio defnyddiau nad ydw i wedi gweithio gyda nhw o’r blaen yn ogystal â datblygu sgiliau patrymu newydd. Serch hynny, wrth i mi ddatblygu fy nyluniadau ac wrth i mi weithio’n agos gyda fy narlithwyr a’m cyd-fyfyrwyr, llwyddais i greu casgliad rwy’n hynod falch o fod yn eiddo i mi. Wrth i mi ddatblygu fy ngwaith, gwelais fy mod i hefyd eisiau arbrofi gyda thoriadau patrwm newydd a darganfod ffyrdd newydd o ddefnyddio’r patrymau hynny mewn meysydd newydd o ddillad, (cyfeiriad at y patrwm twll disgynedig ar y ddau ddarn). I grynhoi, rwy’n hynod falch o’m casgliad. Ceisiais roi cynnig ar lawer o bethau newydd, datblygu fy llawysgrifen fel dylunydd a chreu cynnyrch sy’n adlewyrchiad llawn ohona i.
