For my final piece, I have turned my anxiety into a character. I decided that they would look like me, with the elements I dont like about myself emphasized. Im focusing on my nose, ribs and the colour blue. At points in the film, feathers are shown falling. Which represent my mother, who says I have inherited my anxiety from her and because she collects feathers. I wanted to make this film lighthearted and humorous, to show that I have come to terms and accepted my anxiety. I have created this through such things as making my nose stretch, my ribs shots and the dead bug/ dying fly section, as well as through sound effects: the up and down whistle sounds when Im stretching, the upper-class voice and the exercise class section.
The audio in the film, mainly consists of me talking. There are sections on: scientists seeing if human protruding noses are more efficient, what Chinese face reading can tell us about people with big noses, what flared ribs are and an exercise class to get rid of flared ribs. The audio is very factual and informs you on subject of the film. Although, its also entertaining and amusing with the changes of voice and topic.

Im showing the film in a stripped back version of my domestic space. Including a sofa, blankets and rug. I want to create the feeling of comfort, to contrast the feeling of anxiety and show how my safe space makes me feel.

Ar gyfer fy narn terfynol, dwi wedi troi fy mhryder yn gymeriad. Fe wnes i benderfynu y bydden nhw’n edrych fel fi, gan bwysleisio’r elfennau dwi ddim yn eu hoffi amdanaf fi fy hun. Dwi’n canolbwyntio ar fy nhrwyn, asennau a’r lliw glas. Ar wahanol adegau yn y ffilm, dangosir plu yn disgyn. Sy’n cynrychioli fy mam, sy’n dweud fy mod i wedi etifeddu fy mhryder oddi wrthi hi ac oherwydd ei bod hi’n casglu plu. Roeddwn i eisiau gwneud y ffilm hon yn un ysgafn a doniol, er mwyn dangos fy mod i wedi dod i delerau â’m pryder ac wedi ei dderbyn. Dwi wedi creu hyn trwy wneud pethau fel gwneud i’m trwyn ymestyn, lluniau o’m hasennau a’r adran chwilen farw/pryf yn marw, yn ogystal â thrwy effeithiau sain: y synau chwibanu i fyny ac i lawr pan fyddaf fi’n ymestyn, y llais dosbarth uwch a’r adran dosbarth ymarfer.
Fi’n siarad yw’r sain yn y ffilm yn bennaf. Mae yna adrannau ar: wyddonwyr yn gweld a yw trwynau dynol sy’n ymwthio allan yn fwy effeithlon, yr hyn y gall y grefft Tsieineaidd o ddarllen wynebau ei ddweud wrthym am bobl â thrwynau mawr, beth yw asennau ymledol a dosbarth ymarfer corff i gael gwared ar asennau ymledol. Mae’r sain yn ffeithiol iawn ac yn rhoi gwybodaeth i chi am bwnc y ffilm. Ond hefyd, mae’n diddanu ac yn ddifyr gyda’r newidiadau yn y llais a’r pwnc.

Dwi’n dangos y ffilm mewn fersiwn wacach o’m gofod domestig. Mae’n cynnwys soffa, blancedi a ryg. Dwi eisiau creu’r teimlad o gysur, i gyferbynnu gyda’r teimlad o bryder a dangos sut mae fy lle diogel yn gwneud i mi deimlo.

My work explores the relationship between a space and the art in it. I have become intrigued by how a painting can effect a space, exploring corporate art, it can be used to influence productivity and creativity in that environment. With influence from Colour Theory,...

I have recently been exploring ideas related to the home and memory, and how they form identity. I am interested in how to defy the imperative to follow a linear structure in personal narrative and instead look for a more honest depiction of memory, which is itself...
