I make art because of the way it makes me feel. My process allows me to self imbue my art by pouring my sentiment directly into them. If a piece doesn’t feel right it isn’t started. My art is like a souvenir to help reflect upon stages in my life. The artwork is equally as important as my physical presence.

The work that I make come from personal experiences. Some, from the past have come from a confrontation of mortality, another experiencing a human error and my hesitation to repeat it. Another one; spending of time with a unspoken tension. They derive from very specific events. The ideas are then refined down to the most important features and are manifested into an image and accompanying text in order to give suggestion.

I find interest in artists such as Carman Herrera, Mark Rothko, Garry Hume and Billy Al Bengston. This is evident in materials, style, compositions and awareness of features of work.

In the past I have worked on a traditional canvas and wooden stretcher, while this felt very comfortable I had made the decision to shift to metal support. The transition helped support my current intentions to form a clean cut and contemporary style all with a newly found level of control over the material.

I hope to lure the viewer in with attractive visuals. Once captured, with the use of thought provoking titling, which invite the viewers own associations and preconceptions.

Rwy’n gwneud celf oherwydd y ffordd y bydd yn gwneud i mi deimlo. Mae fy mhroses yn galluogi hunan-ymdreiddiad i’m gwaith celf drwy arllwys fy nheimladau yn uniongyrchol i mewn iddynt. Os na fydd darn yn teimlo’n iawn, bydd e ddim yn cael dechrau. Mae fy ngwaith celf yn swfenîr i helpu i fyfyrio ar gyfnodau yn fy mywyd. Mae fy ngwaith celf lawn mor bwysig â’m presenoldeb ffisegol.

Mae’r gwaith a wnaf yn dod o brofiadau personol. Daeth rhai o’r gorffennol o ddod wyneb yn wyneb â meidroldeb, un arall drwy brofi camgymeriad dynol a’m hamharodrwydd innau i’w ail-adrodd. Mae un arall: treulio amser gyda thyndra di-eiriau. Maen nhw’n deillio o ddigwyddiadau penodol iawn. Yna caiff y syniadau eu mireinio i lawr i’r nodweddion pwysicaf a’u hamlygu mewn delwedd a thestun i gyd-fynd â’r ddelwedd honno er mwyn cyfleu awgrym.

Mae artistiaid megis Carman Herrera, Mark Rothko, Garry Hume a Billy Al Bengston o ddiddordeb i mi. Mae hyn yn amlwg yn nefnyddiau, arddull, cyfansoddiadau ac ymwybyddiaeth o nodweddion y gwaith.

Yn y gorffennol rwyf wedi gweithio ar fframyn pren a chynfas traddodiadol ac, er i hyn deimlo’n gyffyrddus iawn, gwnes y penderfyniad i symud i gynhalydd metel. Fe wnaeth y newid fy helpu i gefnogi fy mwriad cyfredol i ffurfio arddull gyfoes, lân ei thoriad ynghyd â lefel newydd o reolaeth dros y deunydd.

Rwy’n gobeithio denu’r gwylwyr gydag atyniadau gweledol trawiadol a’u dal drwy ddefnyddio teitlau a fydd yn gwneud iddyn nhw feddwl ac yn gwahodd cysylltiadau â rhagdybiaethau’r gwylwyr eu hunain.

My work explores the relationship between a space and the art in it. I have become intrigued by how a painting can effect a space, exploring corporate art, it can be used to influence productivity and creativity in that environment. With influence from Colour Theory,...

We have never been so connected yet so alone. The internet has become integral to our daily lives, no element of our existence seems untouched by it. But have we been caught and paralysed in the web? We are constantly on display and exposed, yet anonymous. We seem to...

I would describe my art as confessional; I take inspiration from my life events and feelings surrounding these experiences, I translate this through my work. I see my practice as a portal from my life in which I can lose myself and explore the deepest truths of my...

I have recently been exploring ideas related to the home and memory, and how they form identity. I am interested in how to defy the imperative to follow a linear structure in personal narrative and instead look for a more honest depiction of memory, which is itself...
