My collection is inspired by my country Kuwait and the heritage of traditional craft from handmade techniques to exquisite weaving and embroidery, which is a part of my research inspiration for this collection. The womenswear collection is a feel of East meets West inspired by my culture, from architecture and traditional craft to Kuwait clothing from the past, which is a personal meaning to me to showcase my country.

The handmade craft elements and the bold rich colours of the traditional clothing of Kuwait have always influenced my design. The richness of traditional fabrics and surfaces are used to create easy to wear contemporary silhouettes. As a designer, my passion for surface patterns for textiles and embellishments and digital stitching using rich silk embroideries on quality fabrics are all important to me and became a feature throughout my design.

Mae fy nghasgliad wedi’i ysbrydoli gan fy ngwlad Kuwait a threftadaeth crefftau traddodiadol o dechnegau gwaith llaw i weu a brodwaith coeth, sy’n rhan o fy ysbrydoliaeth ymchwil ar gyfer y casgliad hwn. Mae gan y casgliad dillad naws o’r Dwyrain yn cwrdd â’r Gorllewin wedi’i hysbrydoli gan fy niwylliant, o bensaernïaeth a chrefftau traddodiadol i ddillad Kuwait o’r gorffennol, sy’n bwysig yn bersonol i mi o ran arddangos fy ngwlad.

Mae elfennau crefft gwaith llaw a lliwiau cryf ac eofn dillad traddodiadol Kuwait bob amser wedi dylanwadu ar fy niwylliant. Mae moethusrwydd ffabrigau ac arwynebau traddodiadol yn cael eu defnyddio i greu silwetau cyfoes sy’n hawdd eu gwisgo. Fel dylunydd, mae fy angerdd dros batrymau arwyneb ar gyfer tecstilau ac addurniadau a phwytho digidol gan ddefnyddio brodweithiau sidan moethus i gyd yn bwysig i mi ac yn mynd yn nodwedd trwy gydol fy nyluniadau.
