BA (Hons) Interior Design

Thorough consideration of an existing space and the needs of the end-users is key to my work. Careful analysis of the architecture and its features enables me to respond appropriately, whilst continuous reflection of who uses a space, how and why, allows me to ideate creative opportunities and produce a functional and layered design. My main aim is to create spaces that offer a positive user experience, and I try to achieve this through the adoption of biophilic design techniques to help promote better well-being, and through my playful design style, which adds a sense of fun and vibrancy to my work.

I strive to design sustainably where possible, as I believe this will shape my work for the better and potentially influence people to adopt more socially responsible and sustainable behaviour into their own lives. By challenging orthodoxies and questioning the environmental impact of my design choices, I aspire to gain knowledge, provoke discussion and potentially collaborate with like-minded designers to work towards a more circular economy.

I believe that Interior Designers have the power to evoke emotion, shape behaviour, and change perceptions through our work. With this power comes opportunity and responsibility; to make a positive societal and environmental difference. I hope that by continuing to focus on both ethically-responsible and user-centred design, I will find the path towards making a positive impact through my work.

Mae ystyriaeth drwyadl o ofod presennol ac anghenion y defnyddwyr terfynol yn allweddol i fy ngwaith. Mae dadansoddiad gofalus o’r bensaernïaeth a’i nodweddion yn fy ngalluogi i ymateb yn briodol, ac mae myfyrio parhaus ar bwy sy’n defnyddio gofod, sut a pham yn fy ngalluogi i ddychmygu cyfleoedd creadigol a chynhyrchu dyluniad ymarferol a haenedig. Fy mhrif nod yw creu gofodau sy’n cynnig profiad defnyddiwr cadarnhaol, ac rwy’n ceisio cyflawni hyn trwy addasu technegau dylunio bioffilig i helpu hybu llesiant gwell, a thrwy fy arddull ddylunio chwareus sy’n ychwanegu agwedd o hwyl a bywiogrwydd i fy ngwaith.

Rwy’n ceisio dylunio mewn ffordd gynaliadwy pan fo’n bosib, gan y credaf y bydd hyn yn siapio fy ngwaith er gwell ac o bosib dylanwadu ar bobl i fabwysiadu ymddygiad mwy cynaliadwy a chymdeithasol gyfrifol yn eu bywydau eu hunain. Trwy herio uniongrededd a chwestiynu effaith amgylcheddol fy newisiadau dylunio, rwy’n dyheu am ennill gwybodaeth, ysgogi trafodaeth ac o bosib cydweithio â dylunwyr sydd â’r un meddylfryd i weithio tuag at economi fwy cylchol.

Credaf fod gan ddylunwyr mewnol y pŵer i ysgogi emosiwn, siapio ymddygiad a newid canfyddiadau trwy ein gwaith. Daw cyfle a chyfrifoldeb gyda’r pŵer hwn; i wneud gwahaniaeth cymdeithasol ac amgylcheddol cadarnhaol. Trwy barhau i ganolbwyntio ar ddylunio sy’n foesegol gyfrifol ac yn canolbwyntio ar y defnyddiwr, byddaf yn dod o hyd i’r llwybr tuag at gael effaith gadarnhaol trwy fy ngwaith.

My interest in creating pleasant spaces goes back to my childhood and my family background. I am the daughter of an Iranian architect, who is full of taste and motivation to create and design better surroundings. I look at everything differently and try to set a new...

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
