For my degree body of work, I wanted to focus on autism in a positive and fun way to engage with younger audiences to raise awareness and education. I wrote a children’s book called ‘The Little Spaceman’, who is on the autistic spectrum and suffers chronic anxiety. This is a creative reflection of my own experiences, which inspired dioramas using multimedia. The vessels of the dioramas are cardboard, coated in Modroc. Inside the vessels, there is a combination of paper, cardstock collage with 3D prints as well as resin and soft mood lighting to highlight soothing effects it can have. I have embraced the autistic part of myself, seeing the advantages it can bring to my creative practice and to the autistic community itself. I want to spread positivity about being autistic, about our brains seeing and experiencing the world differently to that of neurotypical people and that is okay.

Ar gyfer corff gwaith fy ngradd, roeddwn am ganolbwyntio ar awtistiaeth mewn ffordd gadarnhaol a hwyliog i ennyn diddordeb cynulleidfaoedd iau er mwyn codi ymwybyddiaeth ac addysg. Ysgrifennais lyfr i blant o’r enw ‘The Little Spaceman’, sydd ar y sbectrwm awtistig ac sy’n dioddef o bryder cronig. Mae hyn yn adlewyrchiad creadigol o fy mhrofiadau fy hun, a ysbrydolodd ddioramau gan ddefnyddio dulliau amlgyfrwng. Mae llongau’r dioramau’n gardbord, wedi’u gorchuddio â Modroc. O fewn y llongau, ceir cyfuniad o gludwaith papur, gludwaith stoc cerdyn gydag argraffiadau 3D yn ogystal resin a goleuo ysgafn i dynnu sylw at yr effeithiau esmwytho y gall eu cael. Rwyf wedi cofleidio’r rhan awtistig ohonof fy hun, gan weld y manteision y gall eu cynnig i’m harfer creadigol ac i’r gymuned awtistig ei hun. Yr wyf am ledaenu’r hyn sy’n gadarnhaol am fod yn awtistig, am ein hymennydd yn gweld ac yn profi’r byd yn wahanol i bobl niwroarferol ac mae hynny’n iawn
