Being an Interior Designer is not just about the future of designing beautiful spaces but the future of designing a healthier world. We have important decisions to make when faced with new projects. Sustainability and Biophilia is one of them and should be the direction of every choice made. Humans are connected to nature – nature needs sustainability to survive – we need sustainability.

It almost feels like common sense. Clean air, fresh plants, low energy costs, is it really the future if its right there in plain sight? As Neil Armstrong once said, “it’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”. This statement drives me as a designer. It enlightens how small decisions can make such huge differences to sustainability and Interior Deign is the first step.

Mae bod yn Ddylunydd Mewnol yn ymwneud nid â dyfodol dylunio gofodau hardd yn unig, ond mae’n ymwneud hefyd â dylunio byd iachach. Mae penderfyniadau pwysig gennym i’w gwneud pan ddown ni ar draws prosiectau newydd. Mae Cynaliadwyedd a Bioffilia yn un ohonyn nhw a dyma ddylai fod cyfeiriad pob dewis a wneir. Mae bodau dynol wedi’u cysylltu â natur – bydd angen cynaliadwyedd ar natur i oroesi – mae angen cynaliadwyedd arnom.

Mae hyn bron â bod yn synnwyr cyffredin. Aer glân, planhigion ffres, costau ynni isel, ai dyma yw’r dyfodol mewn gwirionedd os bydd e yno’n amlwg o flaen ein llygaid? Fel y dywedodd Neil Armstrong un tro, “it’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind”. Mae’r gosodiad hwn yn fy ngyrru fel dylunydd. Mae’n dangos sut gall penderfyniadau bychain wneud gwahaniaeth enfawr i gynaliadwyedd, a Dylunio Mewnol yw’r cam cyntaf.
