BA (Hons) Interior Design

I believe design should be used to support and promote individual health, happiness and wellbeing. My strengths lie in my capacity to listen, understand and find creative ways to improve the physical and psychological welfare of individuals through the spaces I design.

Completing a Bachelor of Honours in Interior Design has taught me to conduct high level academic research, develop digital software skills and advance my understanding of how spaces, objects and colour can positively influence experience. Having proven a high level of academic research on the psychological effects of colour in spaces, I am particularly keen on utilising colour to create fun-loving and comfortable environments. I believe colour can be used to enhance a sense of community and contribute towards supporting mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Throughout my degree, I have had the opportunity to work both independently as well as collaboratively. This has developed my presentation and communication skills, improved my attention to detail and increased my ability to perceive the world through the eyes of others. My studies have also enabled me to venture to India; broadening my cultural understandings, physical practical skills and driven my ambition to help others. I believe that by placing people at the heart of design, I can support the wellbeing of others and improve levels of human happiness.

Rwy’n credu y dylid defnyddio dylunio i gefnogi a hybu iechyd, hapusrwydd a lles unigolion. Fy nghryfderau i yw fy ngallu i wrando, deall a dod o hyd i ffyrdd creadigol o wella lles corfforol a seicolegol unigolion drwy gyfrwng y mannau rwy’n eu dylunio.

Mae cwblhau Baglor er Anrhydedd mewn Dylunio Mewnol wedi fy nysgu i gynnal ymchwil academaidd lefel uchel, datblygu sgiliau meddalwedd digidol a gwella fy nealltwriaeth o sut y gall gofodau, gwrthrychau a lliw gael dylanwad cadarnhaol ar brofiad. Ar ôl cael profiad o lefel uchel o ymchwil academaidd ar effeithiau seicolegol lliw mewn gofodau, rwy’n arbennig o awyddus i ddefnyddio lliw i greu amgylcheddau cyfforddus llawn hwyl. Rwy’n credu y gellir defnyddio lliw i wella ymdeimlad o gymuned a chyfrannu at gefnogi lles meddyliol, corfforol ac emosiynol.

Drwy gydol fy ngradd, rydw i wedi cael cyfle i weithio’n annibynnol yn ogystal ag ar y cyd. Mae hyn wedi datblygu fy sgiliau cyflwyno a chyfathrebu, wedi gwella fy ngallu i roi sylw i fanylion ac wedi hybu fy ngallu i weld y byd drwy lygaid pobl eraill. Mae fy astudiaethau wedi fy ngalluogi i fentro i India hefyd; gan ehangu fy nealltwriaeth ddiwylliannol, sgiliau ymarferol corfforol a sbarduno fy uchelgais i helpu eraill. Rwy’n credu, drwy roi pobl wrth wraidd dylunio, y gallaf gefnogi lles pobl eraill a gwella lefelau hapusrwydd dynol.

My interest in creating pleasant spaces goes back to my childhood and my family background. I am the daughter of an Iranian architect, who is full of taste and motivation to create and design better surroundings. I look at everything differently and try to set a new...

Unlike some, I cannot say that I always knew Interior Design was the route I was destined to go down. While I have always had a keen eye and a strong love for artistic design, for me, designing a space seemed like more of a hobby rather than a job that I could pursue...

I’m not one for grand philosophical ideas through design that will ultimately end up being someones living or work space. As a designer all I really aspire to do is create something that is of value to the person using that bit of design whether it’s a space or a...

What interior design means to me is creating a space that reaches its purpose’s full potential. Creating a successful interior design is to produce designs that are easily understood, have functionality and have recognisable aesthetics. When approaching an interior...

The intrigue within me in relation to creating inclusive dimensions derives from being well travelled and primarily being in close contact with disabled children. In 2015 I volunteered for an organisation called Allsorts in Stroud, aiming to provide fun activities for...

To me, design is about working with others to find solutions to their problems. It is only by getting onto someone else’s level and experiencing their journey and needs can one create an experience that doesn’t make assumptions. It is how we use design as a tool to...
